Hi to everyone,
first of all: thank you for your nice wishes!
As there're another two hours untill I get knocked out, I post the pics of my Chieftain with the tracks. And now it's done.
Basically, the result could have been better, but because of medical problems and the time I couldn't do anything, there just wasn't enough time to build the kit properly...
But I'll make a small vignette, showing the tank in a "what-if-scenario" in the early 80'ies somewhere in Germany fighting against attacking russians.
Thank you for this wonderful and inspiring campaign!!
Happy modelling
- Alex

Hi Alex,
Your Chieftain looks great!
To post your photos to the campaign gallery, just go to that specific gallery:
https://gallery.kitmaker.net/showgallery.php/cat/31535
and hit the “Upload Photos” link in the upper right-hand corner, upload them, and then post them like you always do. If you don’t use your Kitmaker Gallery account to upload your photos and are unfamiliar with how it works, here’s Darren’s thread from a few years back on how to post images:
http://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/120940&page=1
Good luck with everything!
Jerry

One other thing; just because you're logged on to the forums and so forth doesn't mean you're logged on to the gallery. When you go there, look in the top blue banner in the upper right hand corner to see if you need to log on there as well, otherwise you won't be able to upload photos.

Calling the T-54 done. I went light on the weathering since I prefer a look closer to factory fresh. I had some of the Mig maple and oak leafs that I thought I'd try out. They are still loose since I'm not sure if I like the look. Top of turret is going to be left loose for viewing of the insides. I'm not a fan of exploded views, so this was a good compromise. The engine is in in there too if I want to pull the hatch off.
Overall, Miniart makes a very nice kit. Some areas are completely over-engineered. The suspension and wheel assemblies are the biggest problem areas. But once it all comes together, it has stunning detail right out of the box. I only added Masterclub tracks and a few scratch build parts that were needed due to broken or lost parts (carpet monster).

Hi Ken,
It is a beautiful kit and I am very happy understanding that you did not use the extreme weather-look on this model. I have similar approach most of the times, to represent modern armour in good, well-maintained conditions.
Very good job!

@ Jerry, Michael
thank you for your help and advice.
The pics are now in the gallery (nice to have WLAN in hospital).
I hope, that with my next kit I don't have to build it in a hurry, so I achieve a much better result.
Happy modelling to everyone

Ken, your T-54 turned out excellent - that‘s a really nice, clean build with very effective light weathering. Models look toy-like if the weathering‘s too light (or absent), but you nailed the factory-fresh look exactly. And the leaves are a nice touch.
And Alex, I‘m glad that worked out. Hope you are well.

Thanks, and done:
Two more photos are in the gallery.
Thanks for the campaign, had fun building the Tiran 5 although my first attempt (M1A1) failed.

Last run of posts - must be a deadline
Wow guys, you really pulled off some nice builds.
Ken the interior of your T 54 is just awesome.
Alex, nice to see you used the extra time and a base will only add to it in the end.
Nate, Pasi and Richard, impressive builds guys.
Okay, I'm calling the Challenger 1 done for the sake of the group build. I still want to weather it and add stowage and details, but the wife's accident and looking after her has put me behind schedule, so a showroom floor version it is for now:

Very impressive stuff everyone!
Technically, the campaign runs until midnight tonight (I do that on purpose) if you need to finish anything off. I won't be awarding ribbons until tomorrow.

Hey guys! I am super-new here, I joined this way back when it started, then life got in the way. Even though i had completed this, i did not get around to posting it Please bear in mind that I do not have near the skills that I see going on here, but am going to try and do my best! Also I know, I know, showing my "Soper-Noob-Ness" here, but really I just got imgur working and so I only have really JUST learnt how to post pics (groan...)I have actually finished this, so I will just show a thread of the thing as it was being built!
So here is the kit, the Trumpy 1972 T-62, along with Miniart tracks and Legend Fuel cell plumbing
Here she is in progress
and here i used the kit external fuel tanks along with the legend brass tube. To make the linkages, I had some tubing leftover from the old Tamiya T-72 that I cut, then used a toothpick to spread the tube & fit around the brass tube, with a spot of CA to hold it:
Here she is, looking a ‘wee bit’ more like a tank:
Miniart tracks separated/in progress:
and together (eyes were crossed at this point)
not looking too bad:
Decals and tracks painted, + final assembly, and finished, using oils and hand ground pastels:
followed by a nap
I know it is not y'all's sill level, but I hope you like it!
All the best from South Carolina!

Wow, everybody, those are great builds. Even if some of you didn’t get a chance to do any weathering, good job getting it done on time!
Great campaign, everybody, and thank you, Michael, for hosting it!
Jerry
P.S. Bruce, your skills don‘t look very ‘noobish‘ to me, quite the contrary!

Bruce, btw, you‘ll have to post the pictures of your finished T-62 in the campaign gallery to get your ribbon. If you don‘t know how, scroll up this page to my and Michael‘s posts to Alex G. about how to do it.

Time to wrap this one up. A really great showing! Congrats to all who finished and thanks to all who participated! Bruce, let me know when you add to the gallery and you'll get your ribbon. Meanwhile, the rest of the ribbons have been awarded, so let me know if you didn't get one and think you should have.
See you around the site!
