Looking good Gaz. I did not know the wheels articulated. I have both the SdKfz 263 and SdKfz 232 from AFV Club in the stash, so I am interested to see how this one builds up.

Paul: Thank you! You are right, R 35 had a variety of interesting paint schemes. However, it seems that Hobby Boss dindn´t realize. They propose two boring options.

Gary: That looks an excellent kit. Great advances!
This R35 kit provides nice interior. I built the engine up. It has 57 styrene and 5 P.E. parts. I took several hours to build the engine.

Tomĺs - Your HB kit is WAY more detailed than the old Bronco kit. Its going to be a very attractive model.

Little update about my R-35.
Seat with some PE that add nice detail.
Interior almost complete.
Rear engine set.
And a problem appears. Road wheel trucks bring two PE parts to represent sand shields.
They are impossible to bend and fit. There are a couple of reviews of this kit that warn about this problem. I thought I will can! But no way. I had to use styrene as replacement. In my introduction I said that I build my models out of box... but regrettably it is not possible here.
Finally, sprocket wheels and idler wheels.

Dear Tomas,
Did you heat the etch parts carefully to take out the metal tension?
Most of the times it helps to ease bending.

Lots of little detail pieces on the outside. I'm quite impressed by the detail but some pieces are a bit small for the big clumsy guy I am.
I lined all of the headlights with aluminum foil as well as the reflector mirror. At this stage, the kit doesn't have blackout lights. The underside and wheels have been dusted though there are still valve stems to add to each wheel.
I'm just about ready to start on the turret.

Just one question. I found the Italeri Sd.Kfz. 232 in my stash in 1/72 scale. It is just a little kit with only one sprue.
Is this acceptable for the campaign?

Gaz - Those steerable wheels add something to the look. That may make all your hidden work on the suspension worth the effort. Were you able to make the foil reflectors lay flat? I have just been using decades old Pactra chrome silver.

Oliver, the 6 Rad is definitely okay for the build. The invasion of France (and Poland earlier) showed up how poor the vehicle really performed in battle. It was the last theatre they were used in, in numbers. I believe two of the marking options in the kit are for the 2nd and 3rd Panzer Divisions in France. Your box top picture is the 2nd Division vehicle.

Thank you, Paul. I used a q-tip to press the foil into the light. I also used microscale glue for aluminum foil to help it lay flat. If I needed 2 pieces of foil to cover completely, I did. If there was a tiny sliver not covered, I used a bit of Alclad.

Yes, many of the pictures I have seen show a 6 Rad gone offroad and mired in the mud. Well, this sounds like a nice idea for a diorama with the title "Off the track)".

Are you going to keep a tally of how many times you break something off that hull? If you can get through to the finish without any I will crap my pants.
I've built an AFV Sdkfz 251, and mine broke when I looked at them. I like the detail and variety of AFV's kits, but a hillbilly could pick one up and play a tune with it they're so fiddly.

Forward starboard...post with reflector... once
Exhaust shroud (PE) starboard... once
Exhaust shroud (PE) port... once
Got the decals on... all 7 of them, yesterday as well as painting and decaling the commander.
The rear-view mirror is another scary spot... I have liquid mask to remove from it, yet(dreading the prospect). But I won't be removing the liquid masks from the mirror and lights until after the final matte coat is on.
There is really only one or two ways to pick the kit up safely. What I should have done was pinned those four corner indicators... dangit!
