For the early type cabin the turn light has to be removed.

I did it.
Started assembly of the bed

The tank

I added a grab handle from wire.

And finished with the modifications of the interior. :-)

I drilled a 0.3 mm hole into exhaust pipe.

Assembled the chassis

Unfortunately the mud guards were thicker than armor plate.

Thanks God I drink red wine and I have the right material to replace them. :-)

I cut the plastic mud guards

and made a new ones from aluminium foil.

This is the final result:

The manufacturer has made a huuuge holes for the mirrors a and the windshield wipers


Since a friend of mine etched for me mirrors and wipers I had to fill those holes with stretched sprue

I painted the bed ...


and the chassis

Added some rust on the exhaust pipe

And some pre-shading on the bed.

I put some of the equipment for the projector in the bed

It`s more than enough for 1 day work.

Thats a nice looking little kit you have there Svetoslav, good amount of detail on it. You made a nice save on the mudguards, the new foil ones are a massive improvement on the thick kit ones.
You deserve a break now after that amount of work for one day, you managed to get a huge amount done, great work.

Actually I also assembled and painted the projector, but did not take pictures.
I'm losing more time to clean the airbrush and to take pictures, than to build the model.

I re-did the date pics just to prove that I had the will power not to start building it lol.

Love the red-wine-seal-foil mudguards and am curious to see the custom etched mirrors and wipers.

Very nice vehicle and I'm thinking of building one myself in 1/35 some day!

So here is my start picture of R-142N radiotruck:


Will use Trumpeter's #01016 GAZ-66 kit, the van body(Kung K-66N) will be scratchbuild, some radiosets will be coppied (using Blue Stuff from Green Stuff World and Miliput) from the ones avalable in other Trumpeter's kit(BTR-60PU), while other radiosets and power units will be scratchbuilt.Last but not least- I'll add the Soviet Unions Quality Mark(CustomFactory PE) on the GAZ-66 cab front panel.

The vehicle will be built as the one I was attached to in 1995/6, while serving my time with the 5th(Momchilgrad) Border Detachment of the Border Troops/Ministry of Interior,Republic of Bulgaria.

Will start with the truck frame and engine.

Nice topic Angel, Im especially looking forward to seeing people's scratch building, ( and some of what I have seen of yours looks amazing Angel) as my scratch building sadly is very limited and basic compared to the majority I see here.
I started the Scimitar last night but only did a few things to get it started and will crack on later tonight and post a few pics.

Is there any plastic options for this in 1/35. I see ICM did a Zil-131 but not a 130, I don't know enough to say if that matters or not. What about a light option? I know for you Angel, that is but a small problem but some are not as gifted as you.

There is no plastic Zil-130 in 1/35th scale.

There are 2 resin kits-CustomFactory are doing a late vehicle and Red Iron Models offer a early type vehicle.CF kit is less expensive but mediocre both dimensionaly and casting-quiality-wise, while RIM kit looks superb, yet is quite pricey.

And there is also the option of converting a ZiL-131(ICM,Trumpeter or Bronco) into a ZiL-130, using some of the generic conversions, that Armor35 offers:

Painted the cab in the base color. Made some post-shading.
The projector is also painted. From diluted oil paint I made some wash to emphasize the details of the projector.

Weathered a little bit the cab:

You've achieved some really nice detailing there Svetoslav, weathering and colour fade look good..loving the used look of the projector... Always surprised how good some people can make the smaller scales look. Can't wait to see it finished.
