Hi Gents,
Greeting from a hot and sunny Singapore!

Peter, thanks for the kind words. Your help really helped me avoid a critical mistake!

Gary, thanks as well. Really glad you like it so far.

Kalin, thanks too. Your SdKfz 260....wow. Those scratched grenade screens look the business. I do agree they look a little long. As far as drawings are concerned, even from reputable sources, I'd definitely agree to get the latest versions if possible.

Anyway, construction of the wee beastie is more or less done. The turret and most tools/weapons were left off or removable for painting. The sponsons overhang the fenders quite noticeably, in a way that makes the OVMs hard to paint in place, yet clearly visible.

Next its off to the painth shop!

A bit more progress on my AB-43. It is now ready for weathering. The camouflage did not come out as I wished. But you live and learn.
Still believe it will look good when finished.

More to follow🙂

Zon the M20 is looking great. It was one of the things I first considered to build here.

Johanan, really coming together now.

Jesper, the 'acne' finish looks great. I know you are not 100% happy with it, but I like it.

Roman - progress!! You are nearly finished the build The Renault is a very easy build though. The link and length tracks are excellent on this one.

My little Beobachtungspanzer is green with envy of all the neat builds here!

Gonna give it the full three-tone NATOflage scheme.

It does not need to feel envious Tom, it is holding itself up very nicely.

Good to see everyone's getting camo! My BeobPz got some three-tone last night:

Glossing has started, in prep for decals and pin-washes.

Roman,
That looks great!

Tom,
What black or how did you modify your black for the Nato camo? I really like it.

Hi Gary, it's plain old Tamiya XF69 NATO black, straight from the jar. But I find it is sometimes too grey for my liking, so I have been known to use a 50:50 mix of XF69 and XF1 Black instead. (I find real photos show a range of blackness on BW kit, from XF69 through to true black, so I vary my builds to capture this variety. And it always seems blacker in pics of real tanks when they are wet.)

Nice camo work Tom. Looks great.

Yes Angel, really happy with the number of guys contributing and the sheer quality of all the builds. I wasn't too sure if the theme would be too restrictive, hence opening it to up small calibre armed vehicles, but the imagination of the guys and diversity of choices is just fantastic.

Looking forward to seeing your '104' progress

I have done some work on my M981 FIST conversion - didn't realise the task I'd given myself - and just adding a few final touches to one section today, then I'll post pics.

Okay where I am at. The front end detailing finished:

Verlinden gives you rectangular blobs without any hinges for the boxes, which are smaller than they should be and have rectangular attachments, where they should be angle brackets, so I had to scratch build replacements.

Verlinden's Smoke discharger brackets have the wrong thickness on the parts that fit to the hull. As they are provided all in one piece of etch I needed to replace it all.

It was easier to build the trim vane actuator than improve Tamiya's very basic one.

The rear end almost done. A lot of details needed to be improved or added as Tamiya kit shows its age and there were changes over time:

These cable reel mounts were a nightmare to get all 4 sides exactly the same - just bolts to be added to the tops now.

I had to repair breaks in the resin set, as well as replace the External fuel tank filler caps with scratch built ones - Verlinden's were shaped wrong and as big as a shirt button! Also the antennae mounts on the tanks had to be made as Verlinden gives you something nothing like the real deal.
