I came across some time back about the 2009 pic in tan. It is definitely a unicorn in tan. But the argument for it being in service somewhere is open for those that care.
Depending what you want to do. Tan color on Strykers is anecdotal and doesn't concern operational vehicles.

Hi gents,
With the lifting of some restrictions, finally managed to get to the hobby workshop to get some paint onto the Aufklarungs Pz 38t.
Deadline is creeping up really fast so gotta hustle. Next is detail painting. Then comes the fun part.. weathering!

Very nice Johanan. Great airbrush control there.
Just about 3 weeks to go. I have to hustle on the M981 too. Had to do a major rebuild as Toadman's Tank Pictures posted up some great detail shots which showed I had made a couple of wrong assumptions. Hoping to finish the scratch building in the next few days so I can then get started on paint.
If anyone needs a little extra time, let me know.

Thanks Peter! It's been years since I painted anything so hope I can get my mojo back.
Good thing you got the info you needed for the correction in time. You saved me too w.r.t. the placement of the radio set in the Recon 38t!
I should be ok with the stated deadline but happy to extend if anyone else needs more time.
Cheers,
Johanan

Almost there..major components in place. Weathering almost complete. Whats left is the exhaust rust, painting the tarp and jerry can stowed on the engine deck, paint and weather the tracks and install the antenna.
Hoping to wrap this up by this weekend.
Cheers,
Johanan

Looking Good Lap Man. Which colour scheme version are you doing? If you are doing the scheme with the Ghost decal, then do not add the Radio frame unless you just want to.
But the Afrika Corp one is good with the frame:
I built this kit a few years ago but as usual, my self flagellation tendencies made me add the missing or incorrect details:
Sometimes I am my own worst enemy.......
I hope you enjoy the build. Looking forward to seeing yours finisihed.

On the final lap I see Johanan. It is down hill from here.
Well, I had a misfortune in dropping the head unit for the FIST, so I have had to do some repairs on that. I took the opportunity to fix a couple of other errors at the same time. That has put me back a tad. I am just making up the last 2 detail parts to add, then the construction will be complete. I'll post pics soon.
2 weeks left to 'pencils down', hopefully I'll be completely done by then.

Okay. Just noticed I have lost one of the rollers from the MG pintle.... another little fix. But that aside, where I am at:
That little bit on the blue board is for the armoured glass that goes between the strips on the back door. The glass can be removed for painting.
This is some of the wiring needed for the optical unit.
This has been a lot of work where some parts have been rebuilt or replaced a few times. Would have been easier with accurate plans, but what they hey.... I shouldn't complain, at least I found some great pics of the head unit on 'Toadman's Tank Pics' that filled a lot of gaps and corrected some assumptions I had made..

Richard, Gary,
Many thanka for your kind words!
Almost home...engine deck stowage added and most upper hull weathering complete. Just left with the subatructure weathering and final details.
Peter your scratchbuilding skills are insane! I have neither the skill nor patience to do that! Wow.. superb stuff. Really hope you will finish the FIST in time!

Peter,
Thanks for the kind words! Your encouragement and help throughout this project has been invaluable.
Well, with the running gear weathered, and thr antenna added, I'm pretty much calling this one done!
Here is the Aufklarüngspanzer 38(t) of Groß Deutchland, Summer through Fall 1944, somewhere in Rumania. Theae are just quick pics for now. Will post better ones soon as I can.
Thanks all for an enjoyable campaign!

That is one fantastic build Johanan. It has been a real pleasure watching this one come together and the finished result certainly shows the effort you took.
Don't forget to add a couple of pics to the Gallery when you can.

Just a reminder to the few of you guys that have finished but have not yet uploaded the minimum 2 pics to the Gallery - the upload issue is now fixed as long as you upload one pic at a time.
Less than 2 weeks to the finish. There were some people that started their builds but haven't finished. If you need a little extra time to complete the build, let me know.
Cheers everyone.
