Jerry

Once again you've captured the drama perfectly
And now there's a PIAT, an unfairly maligned piece of equipment IMHO, then it's looking even better

Keep it up!!

Cheers

Sean

This one is only gonna be busting a wall so...not AS dangerous. LoL
Thanks for the comments bud!

More progress on the piat guy,the runner/firer and a new lad is given birth.
All begun from Dragon figs.

I used Hornet heads on the runner and reloader guys.

Hi Jerry,

They're looking brilliant, and I think you've convinced me to buy some Hornet heads to make up my Churchill crew...it'll be a first for me.

Cheers, ,

Hi Jerry,

I've been AWOL from this for far too long, but lovely work.

Just one thing (you know how much I bang on re British Army webbing) - and I also appreciate you're still working on the PIAT figure - but don't forget the portion of the "L" strap that is secured on the bottom of the Small Pack and then passes under the armpit (before connecting on top of the ammo pouches). 'Hope that makes sense.

Brilliant action in the figures - keep it up.

Robert-thanks buddy for jumping on board this Normandy train.

G-yes,Hornet heads, and hands, for that matter, can make all the difference in a scene. Use with confidence.

Paul-thanks buddy for your always welcome words of encouragement.

Brian-,thanks buddy. It is guys like you that get me try the hardest, since you really know the topic.
I have not,in fact, forgotten the under the arm straps. They have to be added along with some other tidbits I still have to clean up the other webbing. I have never seen a complete fig yet that had all the webbing correctly portrayed. I am getting pretty at it now.

Hello Jerry, the progress looks great. Enjoyed during cup of joe. Details to that wood box really turned out wonderful and I know figures will be excellent. Thanks for sharing!

Jerry,

I thought that that may well have been the case; I only know the stuff as I had to wear it/carry it and clean it all for two and a half years of my basic training!

But superb work Jerry, and an inspiration; I wouldn't even be trying to convert my figures were it not for your efforts.

Brian

Mike-thanks ol buddy for the very nice comments!
Joquin- Thank you Sir,for the nice remarks. I am just happy I could find a use for the old tool box and not have it end up in the bin. I saved the little part my dog chewed and put it on the box containing his ashes. I really miss him, good and bad parts.

Brian-no worries mate. I learned a bunch from you when I began my sojourn into the pitfalls of learning Commonwealth kit and unit markings, etc. I think my education has advanced, but as with all else,it still could improve.
Funny though,as i was taking the last photos I thought to myself, these backpack straps still need to be added, but who would even see that ? LoL
Now I know,I must be ever vigilant! Which is a good thing. Keeps me on my toes.

Jerry, just caught back up with this one.

I think these Brits are the best actions poses you have achieved so far - and the bar was already set VERY HIGH.

Keep it coming!

Hi Jerry, great work, but there is something I have to add to your build. Looking at the grass in your diorama it seems to dry (green/brown, light brown) for Normandy. Normandy is known for it's rainfall and the landscape is far more green (almost unnatural) then some other parts of France. I don't know about your extact timesetting after d-day but it's good to check the wheater reports and link it to your diorama. Maybe you just wanted to add contrast to your diorama. In that case forget my words. But it seems your going all the way on realism. Keep on the good work!

Thanks for making the comments Jan. I will see what I can do with the green tones. Very hard to get those correct.

Some new characters for the hide and seek in the village of St Manvieu.

Bot Dragon modified figs with Hornet heads and Tamiya kit and rifles. Putty rucksacks and detail are under way.
First is an assistant Bren Gunner with 2 extra ammo pouches.

Reloading grunt

Lots of pics showing the spade carried this way to keep it out of the way when going prone.

Still a WIP,among other things they need the slings,303. bandoliers and pig stickers added.

Can’t get enough of the life you inject into your guys, never fails. But Reloading grunt’s helmet doesn’t look quite right to my tired eyes, reminds me of something south-east Asian or maybe French?

Tim and Erwin,
Give it time guys, give it time. These are WIP remember? Netting and scrim will be added and all will be well.
The pitfalls of posting WIP. I am still wondering about the "summer'44" query.

Alright so he’s Tim 2, I’m Tim 1 (‘cos I thought of it first) & the others (at least 3) can sort themselves out. OK as you say the pitfalls of posting WIPs, which I think most would agree are presumed posted to generate comments & suggested enhancements before it’s too late. But if anyone’s allowed to be different you surely are! Yeah that was an interesting query about Summer ’44, had me wracking my brains to check I hadn’t forgotten a Winter ’44 or Summer ’43 Normandy campaign…I’m still thinking we must be missing something?

Hi Jerry,

Another pair of excellently animated figures, you have an amazing eye for detail and balance in your figure rendering, .

Not going to say anything about there being a duo of Tims, .

Cheers, ,
