Nice G-Man , making something out of nothing and what's laying around is a pleasure to watch and learn !!
Hi Cheyenne,
Thanks for the positive feedback.
They say that "Necessity is the mother of invention", but in my case it's being a tight-wad that drives me,

Hi all,
It's a tad slow going at the moment due to the good weather being a distraction,
.
Over the weekend I had a go at starting the 'cobbled' path, again, like the wall, this is cardboard and paper packaging, and lashings of white glue (see images below).
I have used, right or wrong, a scale 200x100mm 'cobble' for the path, but does anyone know whether the same size 'cobbles' would be used for the roadway?
Another question, in the UK during the war metal railings that sat on top of walls were often cut down to be supposedly melted down to support the war effort...was a similar practice used in the rest of Europe?
Cheers,

Well, the Germans were real scavengers, but then again, enough older fences from before the war seem to survive to these days.

Hi Erwin,
Yes, it seems likely from what I've read for the UK that it was mainly the big cities where the practice was carried out...but then again I could be wrong,
.

Hi all,
More cardboard, paper and white glue work today, but managed to more-or-less finish forming the cobbles to the steps (see images below).
I have also covered the wall coping stones with paper and added stubs of the metal railings that once adorned the wall...whether this practice did happen, or not, throughout Europe I thought it would add a splash of rusty colour when it's painted,
.

Hi all,
Slow progress, but a few more 'cobbles' set, and a bit of preliminary colour added to the steps.
The large blank piece of card in the middle of the road is me being lazy, this'll be hidden by the Churchill so I thought I'd save myself a bit of time by not having to lay 'cobbles' (see images below),

You lazy Bastard! I am such a nut theat would do a complete cobble layout, as I know it will be there...

Hi Tim,
Blimey! The last time I chased skirt I had to marry her...I've been paying the price ever since,
.
As for the KIT principle, nerrr, I'm more of a PUBIS...Personally, U Bother If Seen...kind of chap myself,

Hi Erwin,
Well I can't argue with the 'Old', but my playing days are over...unless I could be certain the wife wouldn't find out,

Hi all,
The first non-sunny day for a some days, so managed to get a bit more of the 'cobbles' done (see images below).
Both with, and without, my PUBIS element on display,
. Alternatively, I could claim that the 'plain' card area is meant to be a tarmacked road repair, that might keep Erwin and Tim happy,
.

Nope, they know under the tarp there is no stone. Only when all bricks are laid can one then cover if a few didn’t go your way.

Oh dear thought I typed “schϋrzen”…I must have had Translate on. So…erm what’s all this about marital fidelity?
Anyhoo the ersatz cobbling’s an interesting compromise – PUBIS aside, as joint chairpersons of the Diorama Investigation Committee’s Knowledge - Hierarchy Education Advice Debunking Syndicate, myself & Erwin will have to take it into consideration

Hi Ryan,
Thanks for the positive feedback, as to the lack of stone...what the eye doesn't see,
.
I owe you a big thank you for convincing me to buy the NWSL 'Chopper', it's been a godsend, thanks,
.
How goes your builds, posted any photos yet?

Hi Tim,
'Marital fidelity', blimey it's getting more-and-more like one of those daytime tv gossip shows,
. You're okay, it was only with Jenny Agutter in my dreams,
.
'Ersatz' is such a good word, and loving the acronym,
. But why am I not surprised to discover that you and Erwin have that masonic sort of bond,
.
Joking aside, hope the move went well,
.

Hi Cheyenne,
Thanks for the support, it's much appreciated after all that online bullying from Tim and Erwin,

Yes, it was a similar method, but on a much smaller scale,
