The eternal debate on which tank is the greatest ever continues to live on...and guess what, its now a campaign!!
There have been countless threads in the forum asking either how one tank would rate when going up against another tank or how one tank is far superior than another. Enough talk as its time to build the tank that you think deserves the title of The Greatest Ever Modern Tank.
To enlist for this campaign, follow the link below and sign on the dotted line.
The Greatest Ever Modern Tanks Campaign
This campaign will run in the second half of the year so you have plenty of time to ponder over it.
For this campaign however we are sticking to Modern tanks so please do note the rules of the campaign. I have placed the list of greatest ever tanks as voted by the Discovery Channel however the ones prior to 1970 would not be eligible so please do feel free to PM me if you need further clarification.
Im currently in the process of creating the awards for this campaign so watch this space for more details.

For those that haven't decided yet...
I'm not building armour so I won't be joining this campaign. However, I saw this new release from Legend the other day, and I would love to see it built by a pro!
Good luck with your campaign!

we need someone rich enough and skilled enough to build that one Polar.
I would certainly love to see some Merkavas, Leopards and Challys for this campaign.

Would the T-64 be considered modern ??? It was used well into the 70's.

I saw that show and thought it was great fun, as this build will be I hope.
If all goes well I will be joining with a Tamiya Merkava. This is a tank I have always liked as it is somewhat unusual.
When I buy it I will be happy ro join the campaign.
Cheers all
Tony.

Jeremy
Congrats on your campaign. I recently sent you a pm here on site regarding a model I'd like to build for this campaign, (and why it hopefully meets the criteria of this campaign). Looking forward to your reply. Thanks.

Hi Lou,
The T-64 would definitely be eligible for this campaign as the Soviets continued to modernised their tanks even uptil the late 90s. If this isnt acceptable in the campaign, i dont know what would. All you really need to do is just provide a short explaination as to why you think its the Greatest Tank ever.

Hey Steve,
Hope you got my response. Your submission is also definitely another one that is eligible for this campaign. Same applies as well......just enlighten all of us on why you think its the Greatest.

Hey guys,
Just wanted to re-clarify that you DONT have to build the tanks on the list provided if you dont want to. The objective of the campaign is for YOU to decide what you think is the greatest ever tank so this means you can pick a tank outside this list. The challenger tank by the Brits is one example of a tank that should have been in the list but isnt.
I hate too many rules in a campaign so im trying to keep it simple if its at all possible.

This is where it becomes tricky but i would suggest going with the chally 2 as a Bradley is classed as an Armored Fighting Vehicle (AFV) and not a tank. I probably would be less inclined to add the Bradley into this campaign seeing as it isnt classed a tank.
