Think that@s done now .
Commanders Models 1/35th 90mm AA gun M1 Resin .
Great campaign and all those other great builds kept me at it.
Also it managed to get it's own patch of dirt to sit on that's a first for me.
Thanks for looking .

Nothing like leaving a campaign to the last minute!!
I have narrowed it down to these two..

Riiight!
Cool stuff! I vote for the "train" (Eisenbahn flakwagen), if you are taking votes!
Last minute, no kidding!
Why not try something simple? You know, like a Dragon flakpanzer kit with a full PE accessory kit or something!

Are you saying this one is not allowed here? Better clarify before I start it..

The rules state "Anything mobile or stationary that deals with shooting down Aircraft."
So that train is good! Looking forward to seeing it come together.

Excellent news, Sean! That means my 1/350 Flak Lighter (Flak barge basically) would qualify as well... I think I have my hands full with the train though..

Lol - I'm starting to think I've left it a bit late for my SdKfz 7/1 38. 3 weeks to go and I haven't even got the flatbed and cab on yet. Interior, engine and chassis are painted, but you can't see much of those bits anyway.
If I said my town has just been flooded could I get a time extension?
What the heck! - just noticed the drive sprockets are supposed to have rubber tyres on them. Or do they, seems some have, some haven't. Anyone got any info on this before I redo them? Arrrggghh

I did something dumb last night. Instead of finishing the models I have in progress for this build, I broke out yet another kit and started building... But I didn't take pics of it! Oh well. M39 is nearly finished and I'm making progress on the 90mm. The Kugelblitz I started last night looks good too.

Keith, as long as you are happy with it that is all that matters.
Got started on the big bits of the Flakwagen today..
The doors at either end gave a little trouble but other than that has been OK so far. There is even nice weld beading where it should be, nice a subtle.
Cheers

Looks just like a grey box at the moment. The armament is being built at the moment.
Should look a bit more exciting with things that go bang included on it..

@Johnny--Very nice artillery piece. Your base just adds to an already outstanding build.
@MBR--Kudos on your kit as well. M113(?) with a Vulcan(?). Vietnam era? Great camo job. Looking forward to the weathering and whatever setting you put it in.
@Warren--The train is coming along. It looks like a rolling fortress. Can you get it done by time of campaign's end?
I found time between snow blowing, snow shoveling, Christmas shopping, Christmas decorating, taking care of the puppy, painting a hallway, and other chores, to airbrush the exhaust stains. I tried to install the tow cables, but when one if the cable ends broke off I said "screw it."
I also noticed I failed to include a shot of the rear in my "finished it" post.

Hi Keith.
Nice.. erm. AA tank!
I should get the rolling fortress finished..
Here is the Flak 38 at the start of the day..
And then after a little PE goodness during today..
That's one of the ammo clip holders.
There is not that much to do as the other turret is very simple and the chassis is basically finished except for the coupling ends.
Cheers for now

Some more progress on the mobile fortress, well that was the idea anyway..
Don't you just love ejector pin marks! Especially on nice, big flat durfaces. Why they couldn't have done them on the sprue attachment points has me baffles..
And after scrapping all the raised crap off this is one way to fix them..
Luckily this putty comes off with just water and sands beautifully smooth.
Then we have a collection of bits and pieces waiting for paint..
20mm Flak38 and shields, it's mount and the thing at the bottom is one of the ends of the carriage with the buffers in position.
One side of the shield for the Flak38
Nice, easy to work PE from Trumpeter. Although they wanted some stuff bent in a curve at one stage and that is not possible with the tools I have, so they are not there.. Luckily they are hidden anyway..
Then we have the big bangy thing..
The blast bag has not been fitted yet. It will be fitted after the turret is painted as it is supposed to be a dark colour.
Then just to give everyone how it will look in the end I put the turret in its place and the sat the Flak gun on its base, but not it's mount..
I think it would look very sinister in panzer grey, but these trains were built and operated after the sand colour came into fashion as the camo colour of choice, and this carriage, and all the others in the train, will have green and brown stripes added. Should be fun..
Cheers for now,
Warren
