I've yet to start. The LHS hasn't got the kits i ordered in yet. It seems Dragon don't want me to start this campaign!
I'll start proper work on the groundwork later.

howdy gents. I've thrown my name into the mix. I have Dragon's M1A1 AIM (4 actually) , so I will be doing that for the campaign. This may turn into a dio but we'll start with one.

I might just have to join this one. I have a bunch of ideas/plans for OIF kits. I'll have to decide what to build. Decisions, decisions.....
Mike, your Bradley is coming along nicley. One note for you. The floatation support poles, the long poles on the hull side and the shorter poles on both sides of the hull rear sides, are no longer on current M2A2s though. They were part of the flotation barrier that was removed since it was innefective.

All right here is my entry in the OIF campaign, it’s a gun truck based on a M923A1. The kit used was Italeri 1/35th Big Foot 5ton truck. The pic of the real truck came from “Armored/Gun Trucks of the US Army in Iraq”
Visible above the cab is the M66 gun mount ring with 40mm Mk19 grenade launcher. A secondary weapon, .50cal mounted in rear of truck.
The armor was made from Evergreen plastic, I scratch built brake chambers, steering box and linkage, plumbed gas and brake lines, replaced molded diamond plate. I also scratched and modified the exhaust to deflect the gases away from the face of the rear machine gunner, that is also from the book.

Hi Gino,
Thanks for that .I'll remove them.I got into the Paul Vodnick build review so deep that I wanted to scratch build the brackets to see how they went.
Some comments I've come across when we're talking about M2's is that no 2 Bradleys are the same.
I've plowed into glueing the upper and lower hull together and my driver is in position finally .
Thanks for the feedback .
Cheers

build progress .
Plenty of Modelling done over this easter break .
Here is where I am at now .
The upper part of the hull was'nt glued before I took this photo .
I have got the nemrod figure finally glued into postion .
There was very little modification or trouble with gluing this figure into place .
I did go a little over the top by placing the decals on the side walls because when the hatch is on there will only be his helmet and face that you will see.
The AFV CLUB track is pretty good to work with and it clicked together nicely .No glue has been used yet!! .
When the tracks are on the drive assembly I will glue into position .
I hope you like the progress images .
Thanks
Michael

Hey Michael,
Good job so far, the only thing I can add, and it's not a big deal, is that the thing next to the drivers seat with the black cap on it is a poor representation of the drivers night periscope. The black thing is actually the protective cover and should be orange and the rest of it should be olive drab.

Hi Pete,
Yeah I know I didn't do too much on the inside of the
drivers compartment
When the hatch is down you will only briefly see the drivers head .
Thanks

I figured Michael. I'm just a stickler when it comes to the Bradley since I get to play on the real thing almost every day.
But you have to admit that it is a lot of work to correct the kit or should I say add all the missing detail. S
Still outstanding work!

Joe,
Man, that Gun truck is looking beautiful! I have one of these in the stash to build too. What tires are you going to use? DO they make tires in 1/35 for the 923 like the rear tires on the truck in the pciture?
Michael,
Your Bradley is looking really good too! Thats gonna be a nice piece when its finished. Keep us posted.
I really have to get my a$$ in gear and make some progress to keep up with the rest of you guys LOL

Mother--that is one sweet-looking build. I'm looking forward to more pics of your progress.
Michael--the Bradley is coming along very nicely. Will you be upgrading the running gear too?
I have unfortunately been moving at a snail's pace with my M113 build. Work has been extremely busy (but at least in a good way) and I haven't had a chance to prep my model for painting. I'll try to make some progress this weekend, but I'm not sure I'll get to where I want to be. It's a good thing there's still plenty of time for this campaign...

Here we go...short update. I'm close to finishing up, still have a few small items left to do and some weathering. I have a set of CMK resin tires, but I'm leaning on using the kits tires. Not sure if I want to waste them on this truck.

Michael--the Blast wheels look really good. How come you decided to use the AFV Club track instead of the Blast track? Is it easier to assemble and install?
Mother--I don't think you'd be wasting the CMK tires on this truck. It's looking quite good so far.

I agree with Lucas, its hardly waste as that truck is looking very good. Did you read Pawels build review on the 923? There is some good infor there

Well I’ve just gotten started on my dio.
I’ll have the figures from dragons modern marines kit clearing out the sniper position.
I’ve got to order a small batch of plastic stripes to use on it still.

joe,thats a good looking truck.
i've also been thinking of getting me that kit.but i didn'tt know if it would be a too detailed kit.
but after seeipng what you've done...i'm also doing it.going to pick the kit up this weekend.
and i have the perfect diorama for a truck like that.one thing though...it's rather hardd finding reference pics...so please can you maybe send me some from that book of yours?
but i have started an OIF vignette.....a sniper and spotter on the second floor of a building in fallujah, or baghdad. haven't decicded yet.
with maybe a couple of marines lingering in the room.on the radio, checking maps, GPS.the DML modern marines are perfect for the radio. but i cant fing figures for that are reading maps or looking like they are reading...

Great to see everybody moving along with some really great builds.
Joe, your armoured truck is especially good. It will look fantastic when finished.
Looking forward to see more in this campaign.
