WOW now that's what I've been looking for. Thanks very much for that.
Paul thanks too for those links, you see what I mean about finding a good top view. I went through a 100 pictures to cobble together the pattern I posted, reference pictures are very important.
What do you need for your 25?
Regards

Hi Bill.
There are some great pics here - your pic (posted above) is what I need as well as a rear deck shot (similair to Jason's of the PC).
I think your posted pattern is quite close - there are a few little differences on the RHS and toward the very back of the vehicle. You were VERY close with all the research you've done.
GREAT WORK and attention to detail Bill !!

Thanks for that, I am going to fix the pattern and repost so others might have a better time of it. I'll look for the rear part of the 25 for you (and me) I hope the 25 will be my next build.

Gents,
Thanks for a very informative discussion going on here. I am chugging through an ASLAV PC build as well and am inspired by all the tips and details you guys are discussing.
With some trepidation I decided to purchase an AEF LAV M interior kit in order to put at least some level of detail inside the drivers and commanders hatches.
Am a bit thin on the ground for reference photos thought. There are some interior shots of Bisons, Buffalos and LAV25's at Primeportal, and the Modern Canadian Armour forum has a good Bison Ambulance walk around link in it. But I need to look at all these shots with a grain of salt as they are not ASLAV PC’s. Can anyone be kind enough to post some shots of the inside of the drivers and commanders stations?
And whilst we are lobbying Jason and John for new mouse house products what about modern VIRCS radio harness to go with the old VIC 1 era stuff?
Finally one suggestion re the colour coding discussion currently under way. I recently purchase the Tankograd Australian Army 1st Brigade book No 7012. It’s pretty good. Of the 64 pages 11 are ASLAV themed photos. I plan to use this book as my primary reference at the colour mixing stage as it has a good selection of vehicles with very little weathering (brand new bushmasters and other vehicles fresh from a rebuild) hence you can get the colours right. Ordered it from the below company and it arrived in 1 week.

Hi Wayne.
thanks for the info on the book. I've just ordered it as well. It sounds like a good guide.
How far along in your build are you ?

I have watched a few video's on Utube
http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=ASLAV&search_type=&aq=f
that show drivers area, the crew area and some excellent views from the hatch showing exhaust details but no still images, watch a few of those. The only still images are glimpses of through the hatches on Prime Portal ASLAV section. You could check out Ray's ASLAV 25 build over in Constructive Comments, he has built an entire interior.

I'm sure some of the lads here will have some pics for you, I certainly would ike to see them as well.
Best of luck
Bill

Bill do you have a specific vehicle in mind for your PC ?
I'll look at the MH stuff when it arrives to decide on the exact vehicle for the '25'. I'd prefer one in Afghanistan or a gun car on security Ops in Iraq.

I am very interested in making it an Afghanistan vehicle. Ray thinks by the amount of antenna and the generator it could be a Command version so that is fine with me. If I could either make or buy the figures from Jason I'd consider making a small scene with another vehicle like a Perentie or the 25 itself. I still would like to build another ASLAV PC with the Seal Solution mount which is what had originally intended with this build but I went ahead and and did it this way because I had all the bits.
It promises to rain tomorrow so I'll finish up the camo pattern that I had begun the other day.

Yeah I think the Afghanistan scenario is the way to go Bill.
I'll need to find some good reference pics with clear marking's etc. of a specific vehicle that matches the PII MH conversion kit.

No PH2 has ever been deployed to Afghanistan. The entire fleet was upgraded to PH3 before ASLAV was deployed there. If you are doing a PH2, it would have to be an earlier deployment to Iraq. 2003-2004 era. That means no RWS as well.
If you are doing a 25, i suggest callsign V0C from the Al Muthanna Task Group. Not only is it the car that features on the Echelon Decal sheet (which is 100% accurate), its was the CO's car and is probably the most photographed ASLAV in Iraq ever.

Seeing as we are talking techinal on this thread (read train spotting) the Echelon Decal sheet is only 99% accurate. I missed a couple of small markings.
The photo below is one of the car's that I supplied Echelon the information for along with the photo at the top of this page.
This one is also the same as the model I posted the other day w/Bar Armour. ARN 16321

Ray so please nit-pik, what do I need to alter on my car to make it Phase III with the RWS the way it is?
The details to the trim vane, the right hand rear view mirror arm and mount, anything else?
Are there appropriate decals on the Echelon sheet for the APC?
Paul, I've been harvesting those ADF pics for some time, there are some terrific photographs as well as loads of technical information.
Thanks for any help.
Bill

Ray sorry to jump in.
Bill, It will depend on the date that you want to represent and where.
The link that Paul has shown is from 2006, and a few new items have been added to the cars since then. I wont go into it but I'm working on them
We just realesed the Phase III PC bits. They include the new C/C hatch, trimvane, GPS and IVNS, and the L/H mirror mount.
As for the decals, most will be used for the PC. But you will need to have some very specific photos up close to place most of them.
Cheers Jason

You can see my primed vehicle a few posts back, so I have addressed the two antenna and the Commanders hatch is only used with the Seal Solution RWS is that correct, mine uses the (Diemarco mount) which leaves the trim vane details and the right hand rear view mirror mount and guard. Anything else (externally) to distinguish my car from a Phase III?
Thanks
Bill

Yes and no. The new hatch can have a pintal mounted .50 cal on it, and we will have that out at some time. Yours is OK. If in Australia you will need to remove the "X" antenna. If in the MEAO you will still need to add the BFT (Blue Force Tracker) and even more antenna's and a new AMU mount. Stay tuned for more info.
The trimvane can stay as Phase II. But most now have the PIII.
The only other thing would be the cables running from the RWS to the middle AMU mount.
And without sounding like I'm trying to sell you stuff, your GPS needs work. The top looks OK but the rest is a bit out of wack.
Cheers Jason

Interesting observations
1- more tie downs than I'd seen before, need more PE tie downs
2-now that I see these I notice them on most pictures
3-these attachment points are not in line with the ones above, unlike Mouse House conversion (easily moved)
4-there is a gap in the tie downs (could use these four or five elsewhere)
Great photo, wish I had it in the beginning.

In that photo Bill you can just see part of the pintal mount for the new cupola.
As for the bolt lugs on the side of the hull, thses will be fixed up once this mould finishes its casting life.
More tie downs, stay tuned.
