Wow, nice inspiration!
The "officer" could read a book about myths and sages of mystical things. Interesting!

Ahh, will you cover the wooden wall with plaster?
Or is it a type of "security"-cover/shielding of the electromagnetic emmissions?

greetings...

Here is a little uppdate. Not much. But it shows the wall that is going to be used. Its not done yet. Will look better when finished. But i just thought i should share the progress.

Hi Jarle

For this doorway I would have the door opening away from the stairs into the corridor as this would be a conflict at the foot of the stairs. Are you going for a single or double door in the opening?

I like the look of the corridor too it will give you a lot of skope for posters, signage and other details to get the viewer looking in and around the dio from all angles.

I know you are looking for ideas on the Glock. While I was at our kids bowling night I came across a plastic dome shaped cup cover which got me thinking of a possible alternative shape for your glock Mk2. I will pm you a link to a pic when I get a chance to see what you think.

It is really taking shape.

Tnx guys. The wooden wall will stay just painted. And if you look super close to the door opening it is showing that the door go in to the hallway not towards the stairs (il maybe show this in a better photo of that area). I mostly thought of how escape routes is supposed to be in buildings. Every door going outwards.

Much appreciated Nige. Tips to designs is really helpful.

The wall is just a normal wooden wall with insulation. To separate the staircase from the hallway. The second door will be for a little storage room under the staircase.

Yeah it could be all sorts of things he is reading about in the book.

Hey folks, Have been on a little vacation. So its time to continue the work. But of course my local hobbyshop have been out of plastic sheets for ages now. But i have found a couple of websites that have evergreen plastic sheets. Can any one tell me witch of them are the ones that have no pattern on them? Just plain sheets. Just got a little confused when they had so many different names.

Ok thats no prob. Have been asking the shop for maybe 2 months now and still nothing. So i am taking this in to my own hands. This is the reason for most of the delays and slow progress. But i like to be faithful to my local shop but there is a line on how patient i can be. So no one else got any tips?

Hehe, yeah me to Soeren. Here is a little update. Nothing is glued, just placed to see how things fit. Door will be thicker. There will also be a mini door on both sides of the crane rail. The dio is on its head so dont get confused. Allot of plastic work left but this gives you an idea of how it will look.

The door hinges was made of plastic tube and a copper tube within the plastic one for strength. It will be movable. Motor functions will be on the floor.

Hello folks. Yes i know the progress is slow, biggest reason for that is that it is summer and i am out riding my bike or just enjoying the weather with my fiancee. But today this idea just popped in my head on how the bell maybe should look like. So i drew this.

Its similar to the photo of one but a little updated, as i mentioned earlier, its like a version 2.0 or later. Cooling ribs to help keep the temperature down from the counter rotating coils inside the bell. And sferish shaped bottom from where the antigravity force will come from, or something like that.

I am also working on the big metal door and the ceiling with crane rails. And other types of support beams. More photos hopefully to come one of these days.

Cheers.

Looks interesting!
Did you planned to put a magnet inside the bell, and the other one into the floor?
Revell had some small kits using magnets and thin, transparent plastic wire for making good effects on the aircraft-kits.
Perhaps you can use this technique for a flying bell.

Hi.

No i dont think i will use magnets. It will most likely just rest on the platform. But ill get back to that when i am there. For now i will try to keep it a little simple. Cant wait to start the build of the bell.

I just found the name for this magnetic-kits: Magic Flight, and they were made by Revell.
I look forward to see the next steps and the -in progress- bell. (also, when it only rests on the platform)

Hi Jarle

With you having the lifting gear overhead, what about having the bell being brought through the doors into the waiting machinery room or being lowered onto the rig with a couple of slave labourers and engineer's in overalls and caps with an armed guard watching over them.

Means more figures but might add interest and the idea of activity.

Good day. Another update on the dio. Here i have made a little progress on the chamber door. Will put puddy on it soon and sand away any uneven stuff. So it will look nice and smooth for paint.

Jarle, I like your bell 2.0 design. I would consider Nige's idea of using slave laborers moving the bell under the watchful eyes of armed guards.

Info on the movie i found was on imdb.com.

Thing is. The bell is big and to heavy for people to carry or anything like it. Just cranes. And i had a thought about having lots of cables hoocked on to it and use them to hold it above ground. Just some strong metal pinns that i paint to simulate thick power cables.

I try to work on the dio as often as i can. But the summer has been, and i have done allot of riding on my bike and doing other stuff i usually do when the weather is good. But lately the weather is moving in to the colder and more wet condition. More indoors time. Ergo more time for dio work. I will pick up the paste the more the weather goes worse and colder. Cant wait to start the paint work.

Hi Jarle

Tee hee ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, not the slave labourers actually carrying it in, but operating the heavy block pullies and chains to slide it on that fantastic overhead crane beam that you built hanging from the roof.

Maybe pushing the bell slightly to line it up on its stand.

An overhead block n chain pully or electric powered on a roller slidehanging off the I beam.

Glad to see you are getting some time on it now and again.

Nige

Hmm. That is a good idea Nige. But i think i would have to custom make figures for that. Have not done that before. Maybe ill try that on my next project. And finding the right figures for this dio has been harder than i thought.

I want to put a blue or another colored led light inside the bell. To demonstrate the bright light that comes when powered up. And some lights in the hall ways. Idunno. Maybe i wont do any lights, but i want to try and see how it would look first. And if there is room to do lights.

Hello again. Today i started the bell building prosses. There is allot to do. Still have to do some sanding on it to remove all un-eveness. And then attach the shape that goes around the top of the bell. Like a mohawk looking thing. Look at the drawing to see what i mean. But i have finally started on the bell Hope you like it guys. I know i am excited.
