How is the Enigma ?
As good as the T-55 ?

You could try 2 small 4x4 russian jeep then, but the Trumpeter T-62 is a nice choice.

Hi all.

Maybe a little late to start but I'm going to take a crack at finishing this before the dead line.

Been wanting to do it since I saw it originally advertised, just looks neat. Hoping to model it as a Volkssturm unit transporting fuel and supplies to the front. To make things more interesting my wife and I are expecting our first kid in about 2 months. I figure if I don't get it done by then, it's not getting done for quite a while.

Wish me luck.

I'm finshed too! I added some figures and stowage from the spares box, and scratched some wooden beams etc.

I wish I'd completed the building ! I still have a lot to do before the painting step but I think I can say the big problems are behind.

1790 parts! wow!!! I have never done a kit of this magnitude, it was a very fun and long build, and I am happy with the way it has turned out. I still have some more small details to take care of. the pics do not do it justice! I just added the 4 U.S. Tank Crew guys today. They are the Trumpeter ones, and they took me all afternoon to paint up!

The Enigma is very good. The kit went together very well, and typical Tamiya..throw some glue in the box..give it a shake, and out pops a model!

I haven't built the T-55, but heard it's very good too!

I built the Dragon Shilka a few months ago..might make a great piece on the trailer

After just about finishing the Dragon Sherman V M4A4 base I found a gross error in the Sherman. The length of the wheel base measures about 2 feet too long along with soft details on the rear and an idler assembly that is just fiction.

So... I decided to table the DML kit (by way of the trash bucket) and go for the latest and last word on Shermans with a Tasca M4A4. I just got it in the mail from Pacific Coast Models, by the way they are really nice people and answer all emails quickly. After a bad start i think this kit will go together quickly without any problems.

Below is some picts of the kit, it is really sweet. with the DML body above.

Bison- your AMX is looking good! The details you have added, the fine wire for lights, the shackles..etc really complete the build. Waiting patiently for updates! The casting has very good detail molded in!

Thanks for the comments Jeff.
As you know the devil hides in the details and that's why I'm not finishing as fast as I expected.
Here are the latest pics.

There are still some details to add or fix (commander cupola mainly) and this one will be called complete.

Olivier - can you remind me of maker of the AMX. It is such a nice casting and you are adding some excellent detail. I have built a lot of AA resin kits but they dont look as sharp as this.

cheers

Hi all,
this is my last update for the building. After a full day dedicated to these small results, I decided that it was time to give it some paint.

The fire extinguishers needed to be shortened as the bin on which they are fixed appears to be not wide enough. Anyway, the Heller parts needed to be deeply modified.
The cupola was a bit enhanced with some details. The hardest part was to fix the MG cradle which was totally wrong.

Mark, the conversion is made by Azimut from France. The casting is quite good but from my own experience with AA stuff, the latter is the same quality if not above.

Nice work with AMX !! Looking forward to see the end.

Btw I bought azimut conv. last week (after seen your review and build log), your build with all those extra details will be good reference for me.
