I planned to see all the bands I liked .. Deep Purple, Aerosmith, AcDc, ... anyway I didn't see them in their top game, some are dead or gone, I just didn't want to miss them.

Guessing we're here to have some fun.. anyway there was this woman in their late 30's with a small kid , no more than 8 yrs old sleeping while the amps were blasting Seek & Destroy..
why bring a small kid, pay more than 60 € for a ticket, plus food & drinks at 300% the regular price, to bring a kid to sleep.. I don't get it.

The reunion tour in 96, I'd like to have been there..

for those who want to see how it was..

That was probably the only way SHE could have gone to the concert. Expensive? Yes, but at least we didn't read about her locking the kid up in a closet while she went out on the town. That has happened once too often before.

Sorry Gary for hijacking your thread, too.

Hey Fellas,

I LOVE IT!!! Keep on rockin my friends. I love that im among fellow Metal Heads. John the videos are BAD ARSE! Every time i hear One on the radio, i sing it from start to finish. DONT TELL ANYONE I SAID THAT! Best 2 concerts i ever attended AC/DC and Metallica. I saw more crazy stuff than i bargined for at the AC/DC concert and i slipped in a bottle of Southern Comfort. Good times. 3rd best was the clash of the titans tour with Anthrax, Megadeath, Slayer, and Alice in chains. AWESOME!!!

By the way, my back is much better and maybe i can do some modeling. Depends on how long i can sit in this chair without pain. But im on the mend!

Hetfield and Ulrich are 2 of the best in my book.

You guys are not hijacking this thread. We can BS about anything you like while im in between posting build updates. like i said, I LOVE IT!!!

I'm a die hard Metallica fan and "Harvister of Sorrow" and "one" are my all time favorites.

Very nice build log!

Also, MORE BEER!

And my wager: Are you planning on doing a dio for this? I always find even a simple base really ties in the weathering for a vehicle (especially for desert vehicles). Are you going to make this clean or a dusty build? Thanks.

Hi Mark,

I will have a base with some ground work. I have a Rommel Figure and hope to come up with a good figure to go with him. I have a few spare Dragon figures i could probably piece on together. It really depends on the my Funds, which means ill probably piece one. I will weather it and make it a bit dusty.

What are you guys first 3 concerts ever? That includes any that your parents may have dragged you to.

Mine were:
1 - Donnie and Marie Osmand. Mother and sister dragged me. I cant tell you how many screaming and crying girls there were there for Donnie. YIKES!
2 - John Denver. Again dragged by mother and sister.
3 - Judas Priest. Thats the first one i got to pick when i was 16 yrs. old

I wish I could remember that far back PLUS, I have tossed all my ticket stubs from way back yonder, but reallying on just memory?

Queen
Doobie Brothers
Earth Wind and Fire
Aerosmith
Kiss
Led Zepplin

I listed 6 because of among them were the first 3 ... I just don't remember. I saw a lot of concerts in the 70's so going back to the first few is impossible.

Plus, I know there were some I DID see that were in there, I just forgot 'em.

My favorite band to see during their time was Roadmaster. A Midwestern band that played rock that I was crazy about. Them and Boston (which I only saw when they started back touring in '87 or '88, but never in their prime with Barry.

So, we back on the 250 yet? How's the back treatin' ya?

Hey Jeff S.

Wow! Queen, Aerosmith, and Led Zepplin would have been awsome instead of the Osmonds. The only reason i do remember the Osmond show was the girls screaming and crying for Donnie and Mom couldnt give me a proper explanation.

I am at this minute looking over the Greif and seeing whats left before primer. I could wrap it up by tomorrow and prime but sitting in this chair is very uncomfortable and im not sure how long i cant standit. Im on the mend and dont want to stall my recovery. Im more than ready to get to it but im not convinced my back is. Absolutley frustrateing! I may spray the inside of the rear door before bed to feel like i got something done on it.

Thanks Jeff,

@BBD468 – Gary,

First I’d like to congratulate you for your patience, devotion and talent on putting together a prize-winning collection of vehicles, well deserved metals. Keep up the excellent work

Your skills are turning this yesteryear technologies model kit into another one of your award winning builds. You’ve done a fine job on the interior and its complement of items. The interior weathering looks terrific, as do your well-painted rifles. Excellent job on the scratch made fuel can stowage frames.

Now that you’ve buttoned up the two body halves together and topped them off with the frame antenna its beginning to look like your getting closer to finishing with the major portions of the kit construction. You’re doing a fine job on the fenders and stored equipment. Replacing the original toy like tools and fuel cans with currently available model molding standard items, as you have done, will drastically improve the look and scale of the finished vehicle.

Gary, my bud, sorry to hear about your back, but you’ve got to stop doing those famous Mace with light saber in hand back flips! Hope you are feeling and doing much better. Since you don't currently have access to a hot nurse there at home, to give you a nice warm sponge bath and massage , go grab some good movies, the remote, some hot food and munchies, a comfortable couch or your bed and relax. We can wait till you are ready again.

I read through all of the comments posted here since I last posted and then I read about your being at an Osmond concert – LOL!!!

Oh, yes those were the days!
Black Sabbath at the Whiskey a Go Go in Hollywood!
Chicago
Santana – Lost my virginity that night after the concert, good times!
Pink Floyd
ZZ Top
Areosmith
Grand Funk Railroad
OH, how could I forget . . . U2

Wow Eddy! GFR? I love that band and like most, have all their stuff on CD.

I remember back when 45's were the ticket, their "We're An American Band" came out on a yellow transparent vinyl record. To me as a teenager it really impressed me.

Hope Gary doesn't stretch this thing out too long. The paint on it might just be too much of a shock for all of us to bare.

Hello Gentlemen,

Wow there are some amazing concerts between all you guys. Im in good company with you Rebels and Rock-n-Rollers. Im so relieved no one said CultureClub or The Cure. We would have a serious problem on our hands! It was hard enough to admit to the Osmonds.

Craig - Right on brother! The Backs real good today.

Eddy - Thanks for the compliments, i appreciate that. Yeah Eddy, i had to hang up the light sabre for a few days to heal. No hotties to give massages or hot baths but i had my black lab Mattie with me and we caught up on some movies. And it seemed to work. Ah ZZ-Top one of my all time favs. Sounds like the Santana concert ticket was money well spent.

Jeff S. - Im actually woking on the Greif as soon as im finished posting this. I should have an update tomorrow...FINALLY!

Phil - Tom Waits is a different sorta...ummm...well...Fella. Just givin you a hard time my friend! The alternative link you posted is more my taste.

Jeff T. - My goodness, you were a busy fella back in tha day. There are some amazing bands on that list. But i would say that Clapton would be my no.1 choice on that list.

One person i never got to see and will always wish i had is Stevie Ray Vaughan. Thats some good stuff right there.

Ok guys, Model stuff from me tomorrow, i promise!

That was fun!

mmhh.. you guys went to the best shows... Black Sabbath..Led Zepplin, The Coop...gee.
On my side well I had 2 major problems... first in the 70's there was dictatorship regime in my country so no rock bands toured. We were off limits in the European tours...
The second one was much simpler... I was born in 74 so no Sabbath for a little kid.
My parents loved music, mostly jazz, blues and 60's rock music so I had good influences.

My top concerts were Dire Straits, Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, AcDc, Joe Satriani, Deep Purple and this Metallica show too, those were the concerts that when you leave you got this feeling that you could not had missed it, during some songs I had this strange feeling they were playing just for me
I attended a Megadeth and Jethro Tull where the singers voice wasn't very good but I prefer Mustaine's riffs and Ian's flute skills than their voices.

I wish I could have seen all those bands at their peek, but sometimes it's better to see them at the end of their careers than to not see them at all..

Glad you're feeling better Gary

Hey John,

I completely agree with that statement. However, some of the elder perfomers need to hang it up and close shop. It just starts to get kinda creepy.

Thanks John. Im actually getting some modeling done tonight.

Looking good! Ya know, this could almost be a mobile armored hot tub! Seriously, now listen ...

... place the hot tub in the center where the crew would be and use the antenna railing for the "shower curtain" for the ladies. Not buying it? No dice? Okay, just thought I'd try.

You at least should store your ammo on the outside for crew safety. (I just had to say that ... man)

All the ribbing aside, paint on this will just not be the same.
