Ok as promised I will put another campaign together for the Great War. I would like your feedback on what you like the campaign to be, so I'm going to throw out some ideas and ask for your input as well as your suggestions and thoughts on the last campaign.

Here are a few thoughts for you to ponder:

-Landship campaign: focusing solely on the birth of the tank

-Artillery campaign: same as above, but switching focus to the classic artillery

-Event campaign: focusing on a specific battle, event, region, or time period within WWI. Any subject

-Unsung heroes campaign: focusing on all of the lesser known contributors of WWI. Any subject

-Technology campaign: highlighting the many advancements made during the course of the war. Any subject

-Completely comprehensive campaign: a continuation in the spirit of the last campaign

I would like to know your thoughts on a start and finish date as well, but please keep the other campaigns in mind. There are a LOT of them planned or popping up!

Landships!

They all sound good to me, but I'd worry a little about kit availability.

I wasn´t in the last campaign, but I watched with great
interest. I would like to say Landships, but there are some disgusting kits out there and I don´t fancy the thought of scratching a Mk4 or Whippet, just think of the 40,000 rivets
to add.
I´d like to see a continuation of the last one, but that´s only my opinion.
Dateline, it´s got to be late next year, I´m full until autumn. Sorry =Fall

Hi Jeremy,

You'll get most interest with the all-inclusive approach. I've got some odd WWI projects in mind (a US rail gun, the Mk IX "APC" tank, etc) but frankly the A7V or another Heavy is more likely due to available kits. Bear in mind some of your biggest contributions last time were figures, dios, and planes.

I think the all inclusive is the best way to go if you want wide participation.

I'm still working on my Somme diorama, but I have other smaller subjects I'd like to try.

What would be a big boost to WW1 is some decent Landships in 1/35 scale lol.

I'll try and fit in with what ever you decide but broader is better I believe.

I agree about the unfortunate ratio of enthusiasm for landships vs. availability of good/excellent styrene kits. They have fallen far behind figures and aircraft to say the least.

How about this?

A comprehensive campaign open to all subjects as before, starting on September 15 2013 to mark the first use of landships in combat during the Battle of the Somme in 1916?

Count me in too! My 2014 is wide open.
I really need a Mk.I on my shelf, but I see that even the Emhar kits are discontinued. I have no idea about scratchbuilding the tracks of one of those. I guess I'd search for a FT-17 kit but wait in hopes of a Mk.I out in the next year. I guess if Tamiya or Academy were making one, we'd have heard by now. I took a quick look at that $100 new one.
Or maybe a small vignette of figures, but that's not my strength.
Anyway, yes, count me in.

I wish it were starting sooner, but count me in. I'm thinking of the Paris Gun at the moment. No kit available, so everything scratch built. Of course, there are still 9 or more variants of the Model T Ford Light Patrol car yet to be built.

Alright gentlemen, the campaign has been submitted. The end date is wrong for the time being because the system ends in 2013. That will be changed later to the correct date in 2014.
