Hi guys!

Wow, great works so far!

Here is my entry - An AFV's Wiesel w/Tow

It's a simple and nice little kit. It needs some things in the interior.

I want do a fast build, so, I even have pics of the start of work:

I didn't use any references, just some artistic license.

Hope you like.

Cheers!

Marco

After some humming and hawing and such... I found this neat little kit in my closet, looking for opportunity to get out and feel the love

I'll jump into the featherweights with the MiniArt Pz.Kpfw T-70 743(r). It's small and cool-looking and qualifies as a reasonably featherish tank. Lots were made by the Sovs (some 8200+, I read), and many of these became German - amongst the most-common of "beute-panzers" going in 1943 - 45. I'll go pretty much out of the box, save of course I'll not resist (resistance, say the Borg, is futile) the urges to maybe fix the all-styrene vent-grills and maybe add a couple details here and there and perhaps the jerrycan and duffle-stuff any German tank would have had.

Anyone, BTW, know whether the Sovs supplied a jack on these things - none is visible far as I saw on the runners. While I can somehow imagine the Sovs saving a little production cost and effort and simply expecting the crew to "get some help" from about 50 passing armed-peasants-cum-infantrymen to lift the corner up to change a wheel! , I'm much more certain that the Germans would have put one on, were there none "OEM supplied" - heck, they did on about everything else, so why not on this?

Start pic to come along and some pretty quick building of this one, I think!

Nice job so far everyone. I like the little little tanks here.

Work on my WB has stalled a bit so far. I'm waiting to get a bit of cash so I could buy some brown/dirt/rust spray paint for the tracks which have been such royal pains in the backsides. Always falling apart with the little locating pins always flattening.

Hi guys!

As I said, it will be a fast build.

So, everything done to paint the interior:

So, a little automotive gray primer (I like to use automotive paints because they set really fast).

And some white and OD automotive paint.

And now, let's start to add some collor:

More news tomorrow.

Cheers!

OK!

Now that the Eduard PE set has arrived...

The planned-for MiniArt German Pz.Kpfw T-70 743(r) is on the bench and ready to launch!

I needed to fix that molded styrene grill issue, so found some PE on the evilbay... guess I'll be doing some other metal fix-up stuff besides just those grills!

I was finally able to get some paint on my M41 These pictures took place over last week. I assembled the road wheels tonight. Now I have to give some thought to markings. My original idea of an Alaskan aggressor tank fell through, my decals have discolored.

Here's my update on the tiny Panzer,

Top hull details, still need to give another coat on those wheels and paint the rubber tire too.

Hi All,
I kinda enrolled in this one late, even though I started the model back in July. Here's what I have on deck: the Meng 1:35 FT-17 with the riveted turret.

I am going to us the Decalcomaniacs! FT-17 decals for it and specifically, mark it as a Brasilian vehicle from the 1920's.

I was not impressed with the model. I think they went for parts count, rather than build-ability. It's really quite a shame, since it's such a neat vehicle.

Here's the completed model:

The fit was OK, but not great and Meng certainly has a lot to learn from Tamiya as far as engineering goes. Sprue gates inside the depressions on the road wheels sucked! More tomorrow.

Georg

Hi All,
John, in answer to your question, here's how it looked after paint:

I started out with Tamiya Black Green and then used a couple of WW2 German greens form the AK Interactive Panzer colors sets for the highlights. More tomorrow.

Georg

Here's the FT with markings.

I also got the tracks base-painted, courtesy of Tamiya paints:

Hi All,
A couple of more pics, this time of detail painting. I got the sledge hammer painted. I'll be decalling the handle with wood-grain decals to make it look right.

Here's the muffler with it's first coat of "rust."

Here's the turret MG with a coat of Tamiya semi-gloss black.

Enjoy!

Georg

Update, wheels & hull details and started the turret too.
The time consuming tasks here are the tracks and PE details on the fenders.

Thanks Marco,

it's a really small tank, the Panzer III turret is almost as big as this little one...
