Hi All,
Some more progress on the FT-17. First, I got the muffler rusted. The bad news is, I inadvertently rusted the side of the hull, too! So, it's going to need some clean-up there.

Next, I used wood-grain decal paper for the wood handle on the sledgehammer. I think it turned out good.

All for now.

Georg

Hi people!

Hey Georg, it looks great!

It's closed and the the two sides are done (I hated the PE).

Cheers!

Marco,
Bom dia! Damn that thing is small. Keep up the great work and keep sharing!
Regards,
Georg

PS- what part of SP are you from? Hopefully NOT near where the plane went down.

Hi Georg!

Bom dia!

About the Wiesel: Yes, it's small and not so easy to build, but I like it.

About the plane crash: It went down in a city named Santos, about 80 miles from Sao Paulo that is capital of the Sao Paulo state. I do not know if my english was enought to explain that.

And we have a kind of a miracle there because we think the pilot choose the "better" point to crash the plane. He was a kind of a hero, because there are lots of houses there, a gym and a school.

Cheers!

Marco,
I've been to Santos once and yes, you described it perfectly. I'll give you a hard time about your English, when I can do it in Portuguese. I'm looking forward to the next update.

Georg

Here's my update,

Wheels are done,

Also some work on the tiny turret, that still needs the PE parts

After this, I'll get the turret ready for some primer and will tackle the tracks.

John,
Looking great! I built the old Alan kit years ago and it was painful! I hope the Hobbyboss kit is a whole lot better.

Hi guys!

Thanks Georg. Portuguese isn't so easy and I don't know why our language need to be so hard to learn.

Hey John! Nice work so far. Belo trabalho. Some times these little things looks harder to build.

Cheers!

Based on my experience with Alan kits, this HobbyBoss is lightyears ahead...
like comparing a Ford T with a Mercedes S class

Back to the kit itself, it's a very easy build so far.
Some basic PE parts, nice fitting and detail.
The price was good too, I got this one and the Pz II C (twin tanks with different turrets almost..) for less than
the Pz I F from Bronco.

Well gonna go work on the tracks !!

Marco, I remember a few years ago trying to work on the Wiesel and those PE parts were a nightmare, tracks were no good too. I never finished and it ended up for spare parts.

I usually use filters before the pin wash.

A small tutorial that might help here

Depending on the base colour, you have various filters

you can use either to blend the contrast over various camo colours or even with one single colour build.
I posted some exemples on the previous Panther Campaign with the side skirts of the Panther, I will try to find those photos and posted again..

Finally got some time tonight. Tried my first filter. The original OD wasn't dark enough so I wanted to make it a bit darker without a wash. I also decided on markings. I had some Japanese Self Defense Force markings which were a bit more colorful then just stars and bumper numbers. I should have pictures soon after a bit more work.

Really awesome work folks.

Hi All,
I got the pin-wash done on the FT this week. I tried something new this time by making up my own mix of color (Hooker's green, sepia and burnt umber). I think it turned out pretty good. I still need to tone down some of the rust pigments form the muffler, though.

John,
You gotta start taking pictures with the light at your back, because we can't see anything in your pics!

eMan: that's a pretty small resin kit you got there.
John: I agree with Georg. The pctures are tough to see because of the light. But nice job still.

@eMan;

So... looks like the kit comes with some sort of styrene track-link set? These are from...? (do you know or can you tell where or from what company they sourced these tracks?).

From what I can see, the resin parts look pretty nice. IF those tracks sourced from some prior styrene maker... I am curious as to whether they might fit or not around the kit sprockets. The biggest issue, of course, with that HobbyBoss 1-C kit (and the reason that still sits forlornly all-but-done in a box among my other queens... ).

Summer around here but the Sun isn't helping ...
Filters & Pinwash

I'll weather it some more before adding the tracks.
And finally the fenders.. and more washes & filters.
