Well.... Maybe a good length might be from somewhere around maybe January 25 (end of the Battle of the Bulge) to around November 6 (end of Operation Kadesh, part of the 1956 Suez Crisis between Isreal, the UK, and France, and Egypt and Palestine). But the admins would have to decide on that.

Ok. There's only 7 people who have currently said they'd participate. We need ten...

Will this include "Tankettes" as well? Like Bronco has one coming out soon:

Well good, maybe that will clear a few things up and more members will become interested.

I sure hope so. All we need is three more participants until the admins can assign us a build date.

There are a lot of Campaigns coming up in the rotation so be patient.

Also, check with John (the Campaigns Administrator) for a closer target date so members can decide.

I'd like to see it happen as I do have a few WWII Japanese tanks I can build... and I need to finish one up too.

So should I ask him when a projected start date would be?

Just an update: As some of you do/may or don't know, the Pz.kpfw. 38 has been classified by different sources as a medium tank or as a light tank, at least from the extent of what I've found about the tank. Since I can't seem to find any definitive sources (wikipedia and the WoT tank encyclopedia are not definitive enough for me) that say specifically which it is, I think it will be allowed in the build if anyone has the hankering to build it. This is not to say that I believe it is or isn't a light or medium tank. But because it is similar enough to the similar Pz.35, it can be allowed.

Plus I think the proposal has to be updated and brought back to some attention...

What about the strange systems like Ontos or the Wiesel? The 20mm armed M114?

MBR;

Best I know, Ontos and Wiesel are not and never have been "officially" designated or named "light tanks" - and I think we were pretty much going towards "formal light tanks by name" here - but if we are instead thinking "any tracked vehicle with a mounted gun and some weight less than... (whatever upper limit is posted)", then these would be perhaps a GO?

1. Any light tank, any scale, any era, Must be classified as a light tank or tankette. Panzer III and IV’s are medium tanks, so these won’t be allowed. Panzer jaegers or tank destroyers built on light tank chassis are not allowed.

The above was the first rule for the last Light Tank Campaign

No. The Ontos was a multiple 105mm gun platform. It was not classified as a "light tank" so it is not included. Neither is the M114, though mounted with a 20mm cannon, because it is not classified as either a: A. Tankette, B. Light tank, or C. Reconnaissance vehicle (now I have found some discrepancies in this catergory. For example, a version of the M114 is a reconnaissance vehicle but the original designation for the M114 was not as a reconnaissance vehicle. It is an Armored Fighting Vehicle or Infantry Fighting vehicle. Neither of which are allowed. But take for example the FV101 Scorpion and FV107 Scimitar, both of these vehicles have been designated as reconnaissance vehicles from the beginning and that is their primary function, so both those vehicles are allowed). One exception is, like I mentioned in a previous post, the Pz. 38.

I guess I'll get in with a Tamiya Renault Carrier. I've got a French 25mm gun that needs a tow vehicle.

You cant join with that. It's not a light tank, its an armored carrier.

I thought you were allowing tankettes. The Renault with a MG port would be a tankette right? Well, I'm obviously out then.

You can join with a tankette, for example: someone can join with a L3/33, or a TKS/TK-3, or a Wiesel 1 or 2... But the Renault UE is a prime mover. Not a tankette, and prime movers are not included in this build. Just for the sake of advancing this build towards approval later, if you can build the armed version (the version with the machine gun fitted), then it can be accepted.
