At least you're at the correct stage now as all that chit-chat and pictures did the job so keep going!

Yep. Now lets see how long it'll take to get all the people enlisted. I know I'm going to be building an AFV Club M41 Walker Bulldog and a Tamiya M5 Stuart. I have an old yellow and black box Testors Chaffee but that's a toss up because I've also commited myself to buying a Tasca Luchs... So I may build that instead. It's always nice to have some level of interwar cooperation between enemies.

I can't decide yet. I have MiniArt T-80, two Eastern Express BT-7s, a SkyBow M41, and a Hobbyboss Panzer II Ausf J all competing. Leaning towards the Ausf J right now.

Pick whichever one your heart so desires. Also, could we get a campaign ribbon? How do we go about doing that? And the awards... Are only Moderators allowed to create that or am I allowed as well?

The ribbon is the award and you (or someone you talk into it) create that.

Ok... I think I'll need someone to help me create that... For the ribbon... I was thinking of a striped Red, Green, White, Blue background with a feather on the foreground.

@G.Houle;

Just what I was thinking! A tank with a feather!

I think I'll go visit my paint program...

@Peter;

The Pz. II J ... we're talking real "featherweight hippo" here! You can't get much more bloated and over-weight as a "light tank" than that beastie! The HobbyBoss kit: Just did that one for the Panzers Return! campaign just ended. It's a nice, crisp build!

And.... I'm now ENLISTED! Guess I need to start rattling those dice to "select" the lucky "featherweight" screamer from my pile!

I'm just playing with a few ribbon idea's based on the 'feather' theme. It's always rather difficult to make images look good in very small size. They simply cannot be too busy, or they are unrecognizable.

Anyway, like them or not, here are the results of some playtime;

Eagle Feather:
Peacock Feather:
Indian Headdress:
Armor Plume:
Armor Plume 2:

Just throwing some ideas out there. There are far better designers out there, with far better ideas. Now is the time to input your skills.

Altered Knight:

Thats all the fun I'm going to have with it. Someone else's turn to offer some idea's, or make a choice.

The last Light Tanks Campaign ribbon featured a PzI I think I like the idea of the one with the Eagle feather
That gets my vote

Here's what I am thinking...

I created this draft idea in PowerPoint and did a jpg for this posting - don't know how folks are creating and posting the banners, but I would set this up if pointed the "right way" if this or something like is of interest.

IF folks want something similar but a little simpler that still captures the featherweight and the tank aspects..

How about something like this?

Your ribbon idea is outstanding, Bob.
I've just been playing with other idea's to give choices.

I messed with the eagle feather idea again:

50x20:

The 2nd altered eagle feather looks good. And Bob; I'm not sure how those would come out when shrunk down the ribbon size... Appears like the ribbons are 50x20. It might be indiscernible when shrunk down. They look good, but I don't think they'd come out very well.

Mike G.; Just FYI...

I have looked at these idea pics in tiny size - scaled down to about what other's draft awards look like - yeah, the first "teeter-totter" would not be good shrunk to tiny size, but the second "feather = tank" does come out looking OK and discernable - certainly as a drawn feather and a tiny tank and an equals.

How or in what are folks generating those award drafts? I would gladly try that route with my "design", as currently I'm caught up in a complex dance to get from PP to this page with a image...

Your right, Bob, it is a dance. Especially, if your a computer illiterate like me.

My way is to do all design at 500x200 in 'Windows Paint' drawing off files I've stored in Window Live Photo Gallery. I resize in the Photo Gallery because it gives me a copy aside from the original. But the 50x20 has to be bounced back and forth from paint to gallery in order to unlock it. Then I upload to PhotoBucket and attach to my post.

This is likely the round-about hillbilly way of doing it, but, like I said, I'm computer illiterate.

Ben's way of doing it is fine, if I'm designing one I do it at 500 x 200 then shrink it too. Much easier to work that way. One key is that when you upload it to KitMaker for use as an actual ribbon it needs to be a .gif file. If you save it as normal (generally a .jpg file) it won't work no matter what size it is, the final product has to be a .gif file.

I think I was perhaps hasty... Sounds like way more fun than I seek! I think I'll vote for the redone feather - or whatever other alternative the majority of folks want!

I'm in, it's been a while since I joined a campaign. I have a few in my stash that meet the criteria. Now to choose which one.

I hope you don't mind, Bob. I've shrunk your ribbon idea's and included them here. They are good ideas, and deserve consideration from the majority.

For want of anyone else sharing their ideas, these are the selections that have garnered some type of interest so far:

Equals

TeeTerToter:

Altered Eagle Feather:

2nd Eagle Feather:

Knights Plume:

Any that is selected would be easy for Michael to convert to a GIF file, and use.

Just need the members to vote which one they like the most, or give Michael more to choose from.
