Puff! Pant! Still going!
Some updates on the figures - still see some areas that need a matt coat. Not sure what I 'improved' on these figures - using wine bottle foil worked well, but hard to paint. Does anyone paint them first? That might work.
And a start on the base!

Konbanwa Nick,
Since I primarily use Vallejo acrylic primers and paints, I've come across that very same issue — doesn’t want to cooperate on metals. My solution has been to decant a little Tamiya Fine Grey Surface Primer (lacquer) onto a palette and brush-paint it onto the lead-foil details after they have been glued in place ... or you could just hit the whole piece with the Tamiya Primer. Though the lacquer adhere’s to metals much better than acrylics, I still tend to handle these areas very carefully.
Your figures are looking great!

Thanks for the encouragement! Overall I think they look good - as long as you don't look too hard at the faces! I've been using oils which does give nice flesh tones but seems to make the faces look too rough. I think next time I will limit oils to details only - and I still struggle with eyes - find them very frustrating even with a lighted magnifier. I also notice (in the pictures) that shadows and highlights seem washed out - I might add a little more shadowing and dry-brushing. Hopefully combined with the base it'll all work out. I'll try and post a base update today - I'm rushing it a bit 'cos July 1 approaches fast - but I think it's gonna look the part. I decided to build my own because I think it'll be better as a base for the figures that way. (Or I'm a masochist, one or the other!)

WIP on the base. Note wheels done in Milliput to be painted later.

Howdy Y'all
I would benefit from an extension for this campaign. Life has just got in the way of building models.
Thanks,
Don "Lakota"

So for all you campaign experts out there. How do one go about getting an approved extension?

Cheers!

I'm glad about the extension. I have two figures done, but at least two more that are almost done, and I'd rather finish them here instead of the Unfinished Business campaign.

Thanks for the extension!
Well, I was all poised to post a little somethin' somethin' to the gallery by today/tomorrow, but due to technical difficulties, that is not happening … so the extension is very welcome news.
Still pluggin' away.

Finally it's done. I should have painted the eyes but I normally don't on 1/35 and smaller but looking at it now it looks weird. It's a 40mm game piece so it'll be handled and boxed frequently.
