Hi Jerry!
Glad to see this update! As always, the sharing of your process is greatly appreciated.
Still get a kick out of the 'three amigos' — crammed-in and trying to see out of the same window. The other guys are looking good as well — great character study all-round. Keep up the great work!
Good health to you ... and happy modeling!
—mike
Thanks Mikey,
Glad you liked it and always happy to try to exlain anything as I go along.

Jerry,
I am glad to know someone else is in the "doldrums". I am within feet of my project with time during the day but I am so beat right now, I just can't work up the energy! This week has been 63 hours at work plus over an hour each way just to get to work!
You know what the great thing is? With our projects, we aren't working for anyone but ourselves and so we damned sure won't get fired! Relax, do what you need and we will be here!
Just completed-
1/24th Tamiya Porsche 956 Skoal Bandit
In the works:
1/12th Protar Ferrari 312T2 (shelved for time being)

Hi there Jerry, glad to see your update and great job painting those figures. I think they turned out great and have a lot of character on the faces. Not an easy task but you did a great job. Hope all is well, take care.

A pleasant surprise this morning to read all of the very nice responses here! It took the tarnishing off the bad news I saw on the TV ,wow.
Engin and Dale, thanks friends for the nice words.Paul.yes,they do looked squished don't they? That was the point of this whole dio at the get-go. I have only seen very few dios with a bunch of figs squashed into a small space and wanted that challenge.
Patrick,Joaquin and John, thanks a bunch fellas for weighing in. The common theme in your excellent words here seems to be to welcome me back and I really appreciate that. A good analogy is me climbing up out of the sewer, sticking my head above the man hole opening and seeing your smiling faces along with some helping hands to lift me up. Yes,it was THAT bad down there.
OK,that got way more into the bummer zone than I wanted, sorry.
I did get the roof top on last night and promptly broke the steering wheel off. Now I can't remove it and am trying to figure out what to do?

Hi Jerry - I can clearly imagine your frustration with that steering wheel! What a pain! Now - I have to ask you what you've asked me a few times...how will you paint the cab and keep those figures looking great?! Lots of small pieces of tape!?
Glad to see you're posting - I needed my Jerry fix!! Btw - the other guy you're doing looks great too! I really like the open pocket on his chest - very dynamic!
Cheers

Heeheeheee, yes,I know. I sort of painted my self into a corner here. I will stuff some tissue in the windows and tape them. The fender guy will have to be mummified I suppose.
The Wake Island guy, yes, thanks for the kind words. I am always curious about my american stuff as it never has the amount of interest as the German stuff. So the long standing position of the majority of modelers remains stable. They like the German stuff best. Why do I suddenly remember the Smothers Brothers?

Did some work getting the rest of the "cab crew" to conform better to their perches. The reservist on the roof still isn't quite "melted" into the roof so a little putty is in order.

This was a nice fig to work an as he needed no mods at all for once!! From Alpine. He is meant to be a panzerman but I painted him as a Luftwaffe groundcrew. They had black overalls and were known as Schwartzemanner or the "black men" by the pilots.
I never got to see my Springer Spaniel as a pup because he was a shelter dog so I put him in here as he would have looked.
Still need to work on the boots and maybe a bit of dirt needs to be added to the overalls.
I unloaded my truck and separated the giant cast of characters by their arm of service. Luftwaffe,Army, coveralls, civilians. Maybe this will keep me in focus. The Wake Island guys are there as well so I don't forget them.

What a terrific composite of characters!! Thanks for showing them! The storyline is easy to see because of the way you bend your plastic. Sweet!

Ah-haa! A peek into the Master's workshop!
Jerry
Your cab figures look exactly like Luftwaffe personnel, well done sir. And the figures nearing completion are looking great too.
The pipe guy, perhaps, has his eyes looking offline ever so slightly. But no worries, it won't be noticed w/ all the other bodies stationed about.
As has been mentioned here before, Jerry, I too say thanks for the inspiration with your work and comments. ex: Seeing all those figures on your bench keeps me plugging along w/ a lrg dio project I began about 4yrs ago. Nothing of note to share, yet, but you and your work here are helping me to stay the course.
peace brother
Sincerely
Dave
