Hi Jerry,
I've been watching your progress and all I can say is wow. The skirt pattern on the teenager, did you do that freehand? You sir are an artist.
John
Thanks John,
Yep,freehand it was. Just takes some practice and patience is all. I read a good technique to use in Bill Horans' excellent book on figure painting.

Saw your stuff at Mosquitocon, especially loved the 'Falais' dio. This is shaping up to be just as masterful. Always a pleasure following along and watching your progress. Al
Thanks Al,
I got to talk to a lot of great folks at that show. It is the only place I ever bring any of my stuff. It's too bad I don't get to go to the club meetings any more.
J
Ever considered coming to Armorcon, in Danbury, CT? It's in a nice hotel, right off I-84, two days Sept 23-24. Great show, Great people, Great stuff to look at and usually lots of vendors.

Steve,Dave and Al,
Thanks for the kind words and encouragement.
Al,I have been to that show but it was many moons ago. I really hate to drive long distance now so it is very "iffy" for me to get back there.
I don't even like driving the hour and a half to Mosquitocon in NJ.

I can second Armorcon. Great show and vendors, absolutely worth the trip, J. AMPS 2017 will be there in April even! I might make the trek down on Friday the 23rd. Its a pretty low-key drive too.

Hey Jerry - they look great, really nicely done. You can certainly make and paint the full spectrum of figures! The colors on these are especially strong - they'll look great amid your collection - in what will surely be a great dio -
Cheers,

Beautiful Jerry, I also like the way you painted the eyes, by putting the iris out of the center those figures look very alive, nice job!

You make the Preiser figures look like a viable option, till now I'd dismissed them. Looking good as always.

Wow, Jerry!
Plaids ... florals ... and now corduroy! Along with your uniform painting expertise, you are quite the 1/35 fashion guru! That cane detail looks really good too!

Really excellent work Jerry. I am in awe. The darker tones to the civilian clothing emphasizes to me the struggles they've had to survive the war this long. Excellent choices.

Greg,Simon,Mike and John,
Thanks fellas for the excellent comments as I plod along on this one. I hope all this assembly line fig painting will help me remember all I forgot while I was not modeling this summer !!
I also just took the plunge and ordered both sets of Stalingrad western refugees. They are on their way from Canada as we speak.
If I haven't improved by the end of this there is no hope for me!!

Hah! That's hilarious, and all too often true Kimmo! But I'm sure she has a good excuse? Jerry, as always, you make it look so simple, and do it to a level unrivalled by most of us lurkers, and quasi builders!!!
Very Kewl Jerry, and Opa, is sweet as well.

Yes,well, they must look cool in front of their "friends",mustn't they ? That is paramount in the teen age years, after all. Even here.
