Hey Jerry - yes, I realize that your last post wasn't that long ago, and that in addition to the 1/35 world, there is the 1:1 world....nonetheless, I wonder...any updates? Your prolific updates keep me inspired!! Hope all is well!

Cheers
Nick

Excellent work Jerry , I work for a school district with 6 schools , one a high school and another a middle school the rest elementary .
Aaaaaaand its graduation time , plus my son graduates this year , so needless to say I'm extremely busy on the life side so I can more than understand your busy time in the real world .

The upside to that is the next slow period and plenty of bench time , oh it's comin ............

Hate it when the 1:1 side of life throws a monkey wrench into the 1/35 world projects, especially when it involves pain. I know what you mean about the knees - I have to regrout the upstairs bathroom floor at some point but I'm not looking forward to it. I hope you get the drywall situation sorted out, I pulled down paneling in the playroom to find drywall underneath; only problem was that they used the 16x16 inch patches instead of sheets and didn't tape the seams... that was not a fun project.

Thanks for the moral support there John. I appreciate it brother. I am in the modelers' doldrums right now and haven't been at my bench since the end of May or there-abouts. I looked the projects that I had going and can't find the gumption to get back on them at all. Maybe as my knees and back, etc, recover more I will have an improved outlook. All the intense nonsense going on in the news right now isn't helping much either. I pray for my poor country.
Maybe a more pastoral, diversionary build will help. Have to give it some thought.
But then again, did anyone notice I was gone? heheheh

It could be. It really is just a generic scene from the wars' end with a bunch of folks from mixed units trying to get to the american lines before the russians get them.

We all notice when you're gone Jerry, but it's obvious that life south of the border is equally as involved as life on the north side of the 49th.... And we totally understand, and sympathize with you and your 1:1 scale projects getting you away from the bench of solitude. Been there. Still there. Except in my case it's been mostly work, work and more work. And breaking a toilet, while repairing it...that didn't go as well as I'd planned:|

I too pray for your country, and mine, and hope that cooler heads will prevail, and that we realize that "All Lives Matter", and that just below the color of our skin we are all the same, part of the same Human Race.

Hope you feel strong enough to finish your Reno soon, so you can get back to entertaining us all her in cyberspace with your incredible talents and skills...

Thanks Dave, for the kind words of understanding. The bathroom has been done already about 2 weeks now. I just keep going down to the dungeon and looking at the hobby stuff and then walking away.

I know that feeling too....it's nice and cool in my basement, and I go down there every couple of days to get a cool breather from the upstairs heat. I look, and think, but never sit and build... But that too shall pass, just like your doldrums. Keep the faith bro!

Lots of hits here. Over 1100 in 24 hours. I suppose I better get off my butt. I have gotten some painting done but not enough to warrant an update. Maybe soon?
Thanks all you lurkers.

Your harmonica player looks great, as usual, Brother. Hard to believe you've never done a Luftwaffe uniform, but you'd definitely know if you'd ever done one or not. Ya know, the good thing about this hobby things do keep, and the mojo comes back eventually.

Thanks bro but I think I am a bit out of practice. By the time I get done with all the figs in this mess here I will certainly have a LOT of practice. Hopefully I will improve.
I used Lifecolor paint and it takes several layers as it goes on thin. The first two layers were out of the bottle Luftwaffe blue and then I did a wash of feldgrau followed by another of blue, then shading. I am pretty happy with the sculpting though and for the first time I managed to get a "slouching" look. You can't really see that in these pics though.

Sorry to hear about the ailing body parts, I too can relate, albeit down in me ankles.
But your latest figure is awesome, and thanks for the tip on your painting brand/coloring/technique of choice.
I'm also eagerly - er - I mean patiently waiting for any and all progress, large or small

Your faithful lurker,
Dave

Good to see you back at it Jerry. We all go through it, the juices just won't flow for whatever reason. Then the spark and off to the races again.

Dave and Kimmo,
Thanks so much guys for the words of encouragement. It is very pleasing to break the normal solitude of the modeling bench and read stuff like this.
I am still contemplating that pastoral scene though,it sounds so soothing.

Some goodbye shots before the three amigos get closed in the cab. I really didn't have to spend that much time on them as you can barely see them when the roof is on but I needed to practice a bit. I still didn't go "whole hog" on them.

Also almost wrapped up the "pipe guy". The magnification makes me wince. I thought I didn't do too bad but this doesn't look that good now when I put it up here.

Anyway....

Hi Jerry!
Glad to see this update! As always, the sharing of your process is greatly appreciated.

Still get a kick out of the 'three amigos' — crammed-in and trying to see out of the same window. The other guys are looking good as well — great character study all-round. Keep up the great work!

Good health to you ... and happy modeling!
