Hi Jerry,
Your new painting technique is really paying off - the figures are looking better than ever. Regarding the knife blades, I buy them in bulk too - a 100 pack, but not Xacto. After going through lots of them I've learned to work with them with few problems.
Cheers
Nick
The problem is they get dull very quickly and also the tip breaks off fairly quickly. Just not as strong as they used to be.
The eating guy got painted but now I see after the magnification the eyes are wonky. Re touch time.
I went for the late war uniforms sort of brown/grey/green color caused when they mixed ground up soviet uniform material to augment new wool production.
Thanks for looking gents,
J

Jerry, No excuses dude! You've explained it perfectly, something that makes complete sense. Thanks for sharing that.
Nice group of guys too, little by little this is really coming together.

Thanks Dave for the nice comments.
What does the peanut gallery think about using the old houses I built a while ago as the background for this dio ?
Worth it ? They have just been collecting dust for years now, unfinished,on the shelf of doom.

The peanut gallery says good choice dude! I think the houses will look fantastic in the background to this marvel...45 figgys, I think I was close on my estimate! Nice!

Go for it man! You're a 1/35 scale architecht. If I was that size Id have you build my house. Just need a plumber with real good eye sight to go with it.

And I concur as well w/ the various gallery members as the house is interesting (not "just" a stone wall), and fits the part in style.
DO IT.

I like it as well. Gives the idea that they aren't leaving because their homes were wrecked but for another more annoying/frightening reason. You and your stories! Rock on!

Greg,Dave,Mike and Conor, thanks for weighing in from the anointed gallery chaps. I hear you and also possibly the latent force of the silent lurkers behind you.
Dave and Phil,
I think you both tapped into my own thoughts on this here. It adds more drama to the scene that these folks are leaving intact buildings because of the fear of the unknown. Fear of something worse than allied bombing or street combat even, specially for the women.
So my planned post-war dio may get a whole new set of buildings so I can use these already almost finished ones.
Thanks for taking the time to type some letters in fellas,

Number 19 and 20 finished. I even took rear views this time. But fuzzy, sorry.
Not bad for out of the box !! Miniart is stepping up. Stock head as well.
My present to myself arrived from sunny Spain today ! Yip yip yahoo !!
The one punch looks a bit big but we'll see.
Thanks for looking in and again, votes from the gallery. Even the ones in the nose bleed seats,

I need to get me some of those punches for leaves!!! Jerry the figures just keep rolling off the assembly line! Never a dull moment checking in here from cyberspace. You better be careful, or you may usurp Stick's place at the head of the productivity line
Great stuff, keep it up!

Dave,Dale and Kurt,
Thanks for checking in and making the nice comments fellas,I appreciate it a lot. Greg,I also just ordered the Greenstuff new trig and leaf punches, big and small. We'll see what those can do.
Here are the two next players,a Luftwaffe NCO (Tamiya fig with Alpine head ) and a Army telephone/teletype operator ( MB fig,re-posed slightly ).
It looks like I scrwd the pooch on this guys eyes in this pic. They look crosseyed. It didn't look like that under the visor. Hmmmm.
Have a nice night guys, and girls in some cases, also lurkers of all persuations.

Hi Jerry,
I've got to say, I'm really liking the crispness you are getting out of your figures these days! Wow - nice!

Thanks buddy. I blame it all on the oprivisor as I can now see where every brush stroke is supposed to go. No excuses or guessing.

Good question old buddy. I think a toss-up between the Mutti and the partially bald Luftwaffe mechanic, although I loved the challenge of painting the teenager and her smaller sister as well.

Hi Jerry -
Yes, I'm a convert to the optivisor too!
About those eyes, I'm not sure if the woman suffers from crossed eyes - instead, it looks like her eyes are not sculpted on a horizonal line - her left eye appears to be slightly higher in her head than the right....the sockets might not be the same size either....so, unless you become a micro-cosmetic surgeon, that's what you get! But, I don't think she looks cross eyed. All of that said, I only concluded that after really concentrating on that point...as for the fellow with her, if he's cross eyed, his non-optivisor (cap bill) hides it pretty well! I'm sticking with my first story - they look great!

Yeah,I was talking about the guy being maybe not cross eyed, but having his eyeballs too close together. He is a Tamiya fig with a Alpine head. The girl is stock Masterbox and yes, eyes were not sculpted symmetrical or even. Not bad for a stock plastic fig but it needs work. The first MB lady I did required several hours of facial re construction.

The latest figures look great, really like the "blue guy" w/ suspenders. Very nice brushwork/blending/gradations on his pants.
And you could always give "cross-eyed Mary", er, I mean "cross-eyed guy", a pair of glasses!
Seriously tho, these figs are lookin' real good Jer!
Sincerely,
Dave

Hi Jerry,
These look awesome! Even if the eyes were crossed, I'm too cross-eyed to notice!
Did see a little extra green paint on the hands of the 'Army telephone/teletype operator' lady ... yer probably already on-it though. Keep cranking' out this good stuff!
