All of these fine gentlemen speak truth Jerry...the old bird is as good as the rest of the "villagers"! It's hard to break away from everyone's posts to do my own work, but I've put in almost 40 minutes since Friday. Winter I fear, is here in the Great White for the next 6&1/2 months I think. Should be able to get some quality bench time in, but getting results like yours will be unlikely. You are a step above the rest of us, maybe a couple floors!!! Thanks for your stellar work to give me s mere mortals something to shoot for!

Thanks Dave and Dave,
I appreciate the very fine comments immensely for sure.
Dave number two I really look forward to you getting back to the model bench after that long summer. It will be a nice break for you plus you should be able to spend more time with the baby.
Looking forward to your next update and maybe even the completion of your dio.

It is always nice to spend time with the baby, I get some moments everyday! She's actually 6 now, and in grade one! Where does the time go?
I'm looking forward to seeing this thing done too, as I have other projects I'd like to work on. Keep he updates coming bud.

Jerry,
The lady on the basket is another outstanding effort. I can't really make out her facial expression from your photos but her body position says it all. Another great figure.

I've been looking at those Stalingrad figures, e-window shopping only unfortunately. Looks fantastic, another good one.

Looking great Jerry..., as you said the 'Stalingrad' figures are a lovely set, look a joy to paint. The half dozen or so various troops and civi's I've had in the past from Stalingrad have been really well sculpted, making it easier to pick out all the detail.
Been looking forward to starting to get some of these refugees together soon for a new project, if they turn out half as good as yours I'd be happy!!
Keep going....look forward to the rest of the cast...
Simon.

Resplendent dude!!! Simply awesome work Jerry. Shoes, coat, fur, fingernails and kerchief or head scarf thingy...all simply excellent painting. Giving me the impetus to put brush in hand and pick up a figure....Lord knows. Have a few to paint!

Thanks John,
I should get a pic of the face, not because I did any outstanding job,but rather to show off the wonderful sculpting on it !

Well I feel your pain but I look at it like this. I wear my clothes until they fall off of me,same as my shoes. I paid off my car years ago and save the money on car payments by keeping an almost 10 year old car. I don't travel or smoke or even drink more than a glass of wine nightly. In other words,I don't indulge myself much. Buying the work of an excellent artist is a thing I was happy to do.
Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it ! LoL

Words out of my mouth Simon ! I couldn't agree more. After the mods and re-posing and trying to improve non existent detail on a lot of these figs it was so refreshing to just concentrate on painting for once.
But I will still try to improve my skills by tackling the "less worthy" figs !

Hi Jerry,
I think I'm guilty as charged..."hi, my name is Nick, and I have been lurking"...
Life etc has gotten in the way of participation on the site, on both my own, and projects by others.
I recall from a while ago, you mentioned trying some new techniques with painting - and I can see you really have whatever you are doing nailed. The consistent level of crisp, high quality paint work/figure building is remarakable! I'm really looking forward to seeing this group (painted) together. Your little plastic and resin people are very evocative of many emotions. Seeing them in context will be great!
Cheers
Nick

I fully understand about life getting in the way, believe me. No worries. Somehow I think you will surprise me anyway soon with 50 new buildings and 25 vehicles and about a thousand figures! LoL
I am in a personal stand still as Photobucket is dead right now. Sucks considering I'm paying for it.

Hello Paul and thanks,
Here are two more from Stalingrad and I posted them because I am still so impressed with the sculpting. I fanally got some superglue that works and so got them together. The only thing I changed is pointing the kids' head down to give a more timid/being scolded look.
Awesome stuff.
I also found this set I had bought at a clearance sale somewhere long ago. I had forgotten about it. The gears are turning in my head now over how to use them as they have some possibilities for sure. Not nearly as nice as the Stalingrad stuff but usable.

Glad to see you finally found a 'Stalingrad' distributor. I'm certain you'll do the new additions your usual justice. I simply love this thread/story!
