Hi Sam, the ASLAV PC build is awesome. I hope you will share your images of the painted and weathered model as it will really bring it to life. I was so impressed with your ASLAV-25 article in MMI that I had to place an order to Mouse House/Arms Corps Models for their excellent conversion/upgrade set, weighted wheels and generic decals.
The items were received in no time from Australia ( Mouse House provides outstanding service ) and got cracking on a new gun car right away. Here are a few build progrss pictures:
The Arms Corps Models conversion and wheel set are excellent and well worth the money. Thanks Sam for the build inspiration, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Cheers, Jeff.

Thanks Sean. I saw your massive shopping list from Mouse House/Arms Corps Models, it is impressive! Have you decided on the ASLAV PC or Gun Car version to build? What ever you choose enjoy and post your progress here, it's great seeing other ASLAV builds. Cheers, Jeff.

I have everything I need but I was only home for a week so I could not start. I plan on starting once I finish this semester. I planned on doing a Gun Car rather than a PC. It'll be my first large conversion in resin. Could you PM me any advice or anything that you can think of that would get me through easier or make sure I don't royally screw up? haha

Good to see that you both like my kits. Thank you.
The last Photo's of a Gun Car that Sam posted are the "New" improved ASLAV-25 with Bar Armour specifically for the Trumpeter ASLAV kit. The instructions were also redone (with great and many thanks) with the help of Carmen Manning and Sam's brilliant photography. Sorry to name drop boys.
If you do find any problems (or have the old version of kit) please let me know and i will help out to the best of my ability.
Cheers Jason Miller

Hi Jason, great to hear from you. I have the origial MA-125 and thought it was a very good job as a conversion/upgrade but I was seriously impressed with your effort on ACM-35851 from the new packaging, instructions, quality of casting and additional parts it,s as good as conversion/upgrade sets get. Do you intend to do an improved set of the ASLAV PC MA-120 conversion/upgrade for kit 00392? I would love to see that.
Hi Sean. I will PM you with how I approached using the conversion and offer any help I can. Jason has kindly offered his expertise on these vehicles and I'm sure Sam and Carmen would not mind answering questions. Any of the three would be immensely helpful.
Cheers, Jeff.

Made a little more progress today. Added a befor and after picture of the turret shell, it has to be completely stripped for the Arms Corps Models conversion as there are so many correction parts.
Also finished the hull build, primed and basecoated. The basecoat is Tamiya Acrylic 2 parts XF-52, 1 part XF-15 and 1 part XF-2. I'm not sure about that color mix, maybe too dark? Any opinions are appreciated. Cheers, Jeff.

What a difference with the paint on Sam, it looks awesome. I think the PC may be a more attractive looking vehicle then the gun car. Did you use the same paint as on your gun car build?
Cheers, Jeff.

THanks Jeff
Paints on this one were a little different - for the green I used White Ensign Models' Lustreless OD, which is spot on! Shame its enamel . For the tan I used.. wait for it.. Gunze FLESH mixed with a few drops of Tamiya XF59 desert yellow. Flesh.. i know. The pink in it makes it though I think.

Hey Sam,
Looking good mate. Looking very good.
As is your Jeffrey.
I have now moved into the new place outside of Toowoomba.
Started to do the markings for the RWS. Interested? (stupid question).

Hi Rob, thanks for the kind words. I don't know what it is about the ASLAVs but I find them addictive to build.
HI Sam, the colors you have used seem to be an excellent match. I used Valejo Tan Yellow for my base and Tamiya Olive Drab and Nato Black for the camo. I am happy with it but I would like to try your color choices when I build the PC.
Hi Jason, thanks for the encouragement. Need your help to identify a call sign on AUSSIE BATTLER, A.R.N. 16393 as I can not see it in the photos and am considering putting these markings on my model. Your help is appreciated.
Cheers, Jeff.

Not a problem Jeffrey. I need a photo for starters and a date that the photo was taken, and I can go from there. I have (at last count) about 20gig worth of photos and video. So I should be able to find it for you.
Cheers Jason
PS the colours look good.

Hi all, have made some progress on the turret. It took me quite a while to construct the bar armor as I did it wrong the first time and had to pull it apart and reconstruct it. I would suggest to anyone using this conversion to follow the instructions to the letter to avoid my mistake.
Sean, haven't seen you post lately. how is your build going?
Cheers, Jeff.

Hi all, have some more progress pics of my ASLAV. The turret built and ready for primer and paint.
The hull has been clear coated and decaled using the excellent Arms Corps Models generic ASLAV sheet and marked as AUSSIE BATTLER. I had to guess at some of the decals used and their placement as the photos worked from do not show the whole vehicle, I hope it's correct.
Hope to have it wrapped up soon and maybe start the ASLAV PC. Cheers, Jeff.

Hi Miloslav, how are you? Thanks for the encouragement. I've started my ASLAV PC and decided to steer the wheels after seeing the excellent technique used by Rick Saucier on his Coyote build in the Canadian Armor section. It works great, good job Rick. I was able to get some construction done while weathering dries on the ASLAV-25.
Cheers, Jeff.
P.S. Sam, was it Mr. Hobby- Mr. Color #51 semi gloss flesh you used on your ASLAV PC base coat?
