@BBD468 – Gary,
You’re doing a superb job. Keep it coming! I have this kit in the stash and was looking through the kit parts just last night; I was surprised to see that it was much smaller in size than I remembered it being. That may be because I have grown in size since the mid 70’s.
Sure is good to see you building this kit, it brings back so many good memories of when I was young and carefree (careless is a better word). As a matter of fact I had bought this kit with every intention of building it and it’s still in the stash. The instructions have yellowed a bit but the decals are still like new and the sprues are still sealed in their plastic bags with the small sized Tamiya staples. I’m still going to build it, watching you put yours together is so inspirational. But I’ll be doing mine as “ADLER”.
Gary, whoever she is that’s keeping you from getting your rest and sleeping at night, just don’t let her get in the way of your hobby . . . hihi.

Jeff T. - Thanks man! The wee workers got a raise. they threatend me with a lawsuit from ACLU. You know how things are these days. I had to comply or face a trillion dollar fine.
Phil - Thanks for the compliment. Ive been looking for the tiny batteries online for the tiny radio. When its up and running ill give you a buzz.
I got a little update for you gentlemen, that includes you Jeff T. I future glossed and pinwashed most of the bottom portion of the interior parts. Next ill aplly a flat coat and then do some weathering. While the flat coat dries ill begin the upper half of the interior.
Thanks for following fellas!

Holy interiors there Gary! Man, I passed on this one a few weeks ago. Should've bought it.
I need to revisit that decision again for yours looks GREAT! I like the seats and the radio gear. How are you going to do the tracks and are those the kits offering? I didn't really know Tamiya did plastic tracks?
~ Jeff

Hey Jeff,
Thats the only Tamiya kit that I know of that came with plastic tracks. I built one when I was about 12 in the early 80's, and still have another in the stash.

Hey Jeff S. - Yeah they are the kit tracks, go figure! They actually got one right. I fully expected to see rubber band tracks. But it lacks in other areas. The tools are all being replaced with Dragon parts as were the gas mask canisters, MP40, and the extinguisher. The kit tools are awfull!
Thanks for stopping by Jeff!

H Gary,
Fantastic work on a kit from childhood days!! I remember when it wasn't that old & loved the tracks it came with as new top of the line things back when lol
Question your radio looks great the wiring by the looks of it you added little tiny knobs of plastic & then added the wires to them??
If you wouldn't mind sharing would like to know how it was done & try & use for the radios in my kits
Cheers Mike

Hey Mike,
This is basicly what i tried to replicate.
I start with round styrene, a piece of wire, drill bit, predrill punch, and super glue.
I pre mark the hole to be drilled, then drill a hole half way through the styrene.
at this point i cut to length and glued onto the radio with the hole pointed in the direction the wire will run. Once dry i shaped the wire for the rout it will be placed and glued the end in place with superglue, and voila! On the bottom radio i just drilled the end.
I could have just typed all that to describe but i thought it would be fun to do it like this. I hope it helped Mike.

@BBD468 – Gary,
It’s big Friday, came home from work, walked the dogs, did some things around the house and sat down to check out any progress that you may have made since I last posted! And bam, there it is . . .
Gary, you modeling-master-freak’a’zoid (is that a word? ), those radios and interior are totally killer! And now you’re even doing a little photo step-by-step thing with text too! The Force is definitly happening for you. Keep it coming. Go, Mace, baby go!
@csosus – C.,
Hihi, YES! Those were the good ol’ days of yesteryear. Models, ice cream n’ BB guns.

@Eddy...Everything is bigger here in Texas, I grew up in Houston and we had HUGE tree roaches (and they fly too!!), and yes I did used to shoot hem with my BB gun, John Wayne style with my feet propped up on the picnic bench.

Hey Eddy! Hows my buddy doin? First off, i dont know about these days but when i was a teenager and people were breakdanceing everywhere Freak-a-zoid was definatley heard pretty regular. Of course i didnt dance and was busy doing "other things".
You know Eddy, ive had a rough few days with some personal/family issues, but i always seem to manage to get something done on my projects. It really keeps me from pulling my hair out! Oh yeah im bald, but you get the point. Its good for my soul. Take care Eddy!

Hi Gary,
Thank you very much for that I have always wondered how the really great modelers did their thing & now I have learned something to hopefully help me get better at detailing.
Once again thanks for taking the time to help out a old begginer
Ta Mike

Hey Gary,
It's 1am, The Rangers just won again!!!! Josh Hamilton...another two homers! He's now at 8 homers for his last 19 at bats. (I know...I need to get a life)
Anyway, I realized I hadn't learned anything new today. Looking through this and other sites...no go. And then I see your thread and I learn something....how to make those wire thingys for 1/35 radios. Cool! Now I can go to sleep...knowing I learned something today. Did I say it's 1am? Well...I learned somethng tommorow. lol
Thanks for posting the tutorial. Your "Grief" is coming along nicely. I have this kit, but have plans with an SdKfz 252 conversion set.
Post to you later,
Cory

Mike - Im always happy to help any way i can. Im glad it was useful. Take care man!
Cory - OH YEAH!!! 10 to 3 Rangers! Josh Hamilton is a roll model for me personaly. I might be older than him but hes a good man and he reminds me that we all make mistakes in our lives but when we are honest about it and ask for forgiveness, it makes us stronger. In my opinion.
Man im happy you learned something from my build. Especially that late at night. Did you dream about Homeruns or building models. Or both?
Thanks Cory and take care,
Gary

Nice work on the radio Gary. On the tracks, are all the Tamiya 250 version have this material used in the kits? If not, would the 250 plastic tracks work on the other versions?
Not an expert on these vehicles, so I ask if you would know. I want to get one but would be disappointed if they were not like yours are, plastic.
Thanks man for any answers you can provide.
