Very nice work Rob, Love the convertible option. The Sturmpanzer mortar is a great idea, very original and actually makes a lot of sense.
The extra room would be perfect for the massive ammo storage and loading. But could you imagine a an invincible dreadnaught on the battle field, throwing out those rounds!
That thing would breed an entire new infection of tiger terror into any army that faced it!

Josip: thanks for the comment, it´s appreciated.
Kevin: the Maus is looking good and i love the base for it.
J.Poitras: nice T28 shame about the tracks but no big problem. Just mask off the hull and respray the them at a low pressure, and all will be good.
Rob: great E100, love the Sturmpanzer turret idea.
Well I´m calling this one done I´ll add a crew member sometime but can´t be bothered now:
Look and enjoy, oh yes the tracks have been repositioned.
Thanks Torchy good idea for a campaign, and no bad feelings about the track thing.
I shall be watching the rest of you and looking forward to some fantastic builds.
Cheers
Paul

Sponsons are superglued in place and NOT coming back off, but I had left the drive sprockets loose so the tracks slipped out fairly easy.
Do y'all consider tamiya 'light burnt metal' a good color to use? I think steel will be too bright.

Hi JP,
don´t go with anything metallic.
I would use something like Tamiya XF54 Dark Sea Grey with a couple of drops of XF1 Black to darken it a bit more, then when dry use a silver pencil from Karismacolor to get the worn part in there, and maybe a rusty/dirty wash could also be used.
But that´s only my 2 cents.

I WOULD offer to help out but that last few attempts to do so ended in failure as there must have been a language barrier.
If no one does let me know.

Well Jeff, let's try it. Maybe we will overcome our language difference and find understanding in each others words...
And, in advance, thanks for effort

Well, lets see. I sent you a PM so we'll see if any good comes out of it.
And when I said a language barrier I wasn't talking about Internationally. I seam to be vague about things and not really detailed but I tried real hard on this!

Paul- thank you for the color, it now looks right
Jeff--
I had enough "fun" with my tracks. Only needed to paint them FOUR times, once by hand (see previous posts)
BUT now her tracks are steel!!
Now I'm bored with 'just' green.
I'm wondering, (so asking for comments & input)
if the T28 had entered limited production and made it to the ETO by mid 1945 it probably would have been included in the Zebra Mission, if so would it have also gotten stripes?
So I tested the idea on an M4 I had sitting around
Lacks the brown & white also found in Vietnam Era 'tiger-stripes' uniforms
and comparing it to photos of models of M40 sph, online the stripes look completely different.
But do y'all think the T-28 should get stripes?

Here is an in process photo of my T-28 Super Heavy.
I'm Undecided as to attaching the second set of tracks or showing them being towed behind the tank. Any comments?
Thanks,
Tom

Tom,
My plan is to have one side sitting and the other being lifted into position, the only thing is I can't seem to find any reference to the attachment on the sprocket to drive the outer tracks the closest I've come is the pics from the Voyager set but they are unclear. That being said I agree show them towed.
Cheers Rob.

Tom, sound like a great idea to tow them behind.
but look at the picture at this link
http://www.flickr.com/photos/us_army_rolling_along/8462547093/
You'll need to scratch build in the closed-in boxes above the tracks.
They are tool boxes that slide out the back.
Here is the link to the site with pictures of the tool boxes opened for the first time in 40 years.
http://www.weaponsofwwii.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=854
look at the entry timed 4:14
The Kentucky ANG took the tank into their shop for a clean up before going in the Patton Museum.
I had seen these before I started my build but couldn't re-find it for reference when the time came.
Good Luck.

OK I am calling this one done, I have toned down the streaking and the rust just a fraction.... and decided against the night vision. As it was brought up earlier it would've been ripped off a rusting hulk years ago!
