Hi mate,
I was thinking the 30 years and a couple more for good luck
I have never had much of a play with really heavy weathering so wanted to have a crack at it on my next build. It was a little harder than I thought it would be. Trying not to go totally over board but having enough on there for the old abandoned look.
Anyway learned a lot on this one which is always a good thing. Transfer the knowledge on to my Lowe build

So here is my T-28 (in my $10 paint box)
What do y'all think.
Should I add another color--which
Or just go to decals, sealant and weathering?
By the way--that's not blue painter's tape. . .
I'm trying to mimic a US Army experiment using levitation technology reverse engineered from the 1947 Roswell crash. Lifts the tank off the ground but unfortunately it still masses 68 tons.

I don't have much to show yet but here are some of the parts I've cleaned up so far.
Cheers Rob.

For a vehicle that never went into service, I believe it's a good scheme!
Maybe now some dullcote to flatten it out some.
At least YOURS is finished!

After some time trying, I am officially giving up. It seems to be totally impossible for me to upload photos to kitmaker gallery. Not from work computer, not from my PC, not from brothers, sisters... I don' get it...

Zaaphod:
Maybe you are running into the two problems I had:
First, when looking at your gallery you still need to log onto Kitmaker to be able to download pictures.
Second: if your pictures are too big they will not download. I found that the easiest way to do this is through MS Office Picture manager. Under edit select resize to "document" = makes the file small enough to down load
Jeff:
The tracks are the funnest part--NOT-- good 4-5 hours just gluing the guides on, you WILL lose 10-15% of them

Ha ha! So far, so good! I may not finish in time but I will finish.
I have yet to loose any but I will loose the race of time. I did start late and did get hung up on the horns.
Oh well.

Awesome cammo job on the T28 corsair924. The build looked great with the 2 colours but with the light streaks it really stands out as something very different!

Thank you! (Bows deeply to crowd) Thank You.
I'm not really that egotistical but I'm taking what I can.
Zaaphod: you have no idea how many times I've forgotten and sat there swearing at the computer. Maybe this will help me to remember
Jeff: well you could get away with doing just the bottom half of the horns
Daz: yeah, the yellow gives depth, makes it look 3D even on the flat panels.
Now my question:
I'm trying (for the first time) to take the next step in weathering
I followed Jeff's suggestion and tried Testors Dullcote (50/50 with regular paint thinner) onto the M4 I'm using as a prototype for the painting.
Had a very hard time getting it to come out (bad mixing or dirty airbrush??)
But it left me with a light grey haze everywhere
(now VERY glad for the prototype!!)
What did I do wrong, and should I just cut my losses and dust it with BUFF?

Hi J.Poitras, I have had this happen too, and twice on the last builds .
It´s sure isn´t a dirty airbrush as I strip mine down to clean after every session. It could be a reaction to certain paints. I used Schreiber on my Scimitar build twice, and twice I used Tamiya clear X22 and ended up with a type of pva glue appearence. This also happened with Revells matt coat Aqua, but I think that was just Age, as with a new jar and mix everything was o.k. Well I have tried alsorts of stuff to strip the paint of after these Desasters, with no results, so I always had to repaint everything. You could try the cover up deal but I suppose it all depends on how bad it is. Show us a pic to see how bad it is.
That camo scheme is crazy cool though, be a shame to spoil it with something like an old jar of dullcote.

Thanks Paul,
The jar isn't very old, bought it perhaps a year ago.
this is the kind of effect the dullcote created. the gray below and around the hatch.
it's been sitting about 24hrs now, still there.

J Poitras,
I have had the same thing happen using future with Tamiya flat base. What worked for me was to carefully scrape of the worst of it and to redo the flat coat. Maybe try on a small area.
Cheers Rob.

Hey corsair924, sorry to hear about the troubles. After building something that awesome that's the last thing you want to happen!
I used to try to mix my own washes and had the same result every time. I gave up and brought some of that AK gear in a combo pack. Bloody good stuff. I thin it down with white spirits and apply.
Sorry, the advice is not much good for you now. You need some one like Rob above who has fixed it before.

Hello everyone,
Pegasus Maus in 1/72 is my addition to this beautiful campagin and I must say I/ve seen some really nice beasts being built.
I've completed assembly and will commence painting in the following days.
A question to Kevin williams:
Good idea installing the tools on the Maus. Where they actually there or it's artistic licence?
Thanks
