Hi Guys,
Was up at Duxford on Sunday to watch the military vehicle parade and they had some first world war trucks running, so here are some pics, no detail ones sorry, but some general views.

Hi Simon,
If I'd known you were going we could have met up. I photographed the Dennis and the Hallford but the 3rd one had gone for petrol so I missed out there.
I have a walk about of the Dennis already up and one to come on the Hallford.
Nice pics.
Cheers

Who knows there WWI US artillery?
My Grandfather was with Battery 'E' of the 303rd Field Artillery Regiment of the 151st Field Artillery Brigade.
I know his regiment trained in Camp Devens in Massachussets in 1917 and used a 155mm gun.
I'm trying to identify if it was the French Schnieder gun and if it was the one they used in combat.
And if so, I'd like to see if there's any kind of kit of it out there.
Would anyone know what the US Army used in 155mm guns in 1918?

OK, I think I have my answer.
The US used the Schnieder gun made by the French. A US model (slightly different in its look) was also made but did not reach WWI battlefields.
Please, if anyone knows different, let me know.
And luckily, Commander Models makes a 1/35 resin kit of this gun.

ICMs new kits are starting to come onto the market and I diverted form the Somme Campaign to put together one of the Austro-Hungarian figures. These are some of the nicest figure and equipment sets I've seen

A font-end shot of the wounded wagon so far.

Hi Al, thought I had some pics of the third WW1 job, must have missed it, saw it in the vehicle park, still next time, would have been good to meet up, was a last minute thing to go, will plan better next time.
Thanks Alan,
actually progressed a little bit further on the Tiger today.
Steam Pinnaces finished and fitted.

The parts for the AA guns sprayed ready fro assembly.

The seaboats, as the ship is at anchor one will be swung out, so I have fitted chocks to the deck, the other will be swung in, but ready for action.

the chocks are visible blow the stbd pinnace.

Nice work Si. Looking good.
Yes, maybe next year. I didn't buy much when I was at Duxford but I did get these two.

Lots of fun for the future.

Interesting finds. The Artillery tractor is going tp be a cracking build.
I picked a Bronco Pheasant, and the Top Drawings book on HMS Warspite.

Very tidy little Camel Alan,
The lamination effect on the prop is really nice.

Here is my Start up photo for the campaign.
There are alot of GREAT models already in the thread. This is my first biplane and I hope I measure up.

Tom
Long time modeller. Starting when I was a teenager, then I found out about girls and college and work and kids. But now that I have one girl, no school, no work and the kids are grown, I'm back to full time modelling. My prime area of interest is armor, b

First length of railing on the shelter deck.

More railings on and the derricks on the midships searchlight platform.

All the shelter deck railings on, plus the 4 fwd AA guns. I have also fitted the main derrick, I can find no information on how it was stowed, but I would assume the RN is seamanlike enough to have a cradle for it, so I have scratchbuilt one, just needs a ladder going up the side of it.

Thanks Al,
feels like I am making progress again, derrick rigging, then maindeck railings, then masts and rigging, also waiting custom made base to turn up.
