Hi folks,
A bit of an update. I think the scene has progressed far enough for me to call this one done for the purposes of the campaign. Some items I wish to add are not yet released and may not come out in time for the campaign end, but this one can run as is for now. If I accomplish anything else I'll let you know.
I've enjoyed all your builds and progress, congratulations to everyone for another terrific campaign.
Cheers

Nice work all.
Alan, most impressive. Each time I look at it I see something that I had not seen earlier.

Hi Alex,
Many thanks and glad you enjoyed the build. With the new artillery from Resicast, new figures coming along from ICM and the new MkIVs hopefully there will be another WW1 campaign next year as the options have increased greatly in a short period of time.
Cheers

Greal stuff Al, the dio
real depth and lots of stuff going on.
Could really do with the base for the Tiger before I can make much more progress.

Great and inspiring work. I'm already planning to rebuild my trench scene. I'll add another set of ICM figures.

Hello All,
I'd like to join this campaign with a very humble tank build - the venerable Airfix MKI male. Hope that is okay. It will pale beside the really impressive dio work I see going on, but this kit has been in the stash long enough and deserves to be built, and I hope pretty quickly too.
Here's a start picture...
Cheers

Thanks Si and Alex.
Welcome along Matthew.
ICM have just released their British Weapons set so maybe the Tommmy's won't be far behind and it will get completed before campaign end in Dec.

I made good progress this evening...
This kit is crying out for an interior. Imagine a mighty engine block in there and exhaust flues going to the roof… All kinds of sponson-off models would be possible...
sponson naval 6 pounders:
And again in front forward position…
And now with sponsons fitted…
and now with pesky tracks added…
The problem is these tracks do not fit “track-to-track”, you have to glue them them with regular liquid poly to the hull of the tank…
You’ve got to love Arfix though. I love the grey plastic - really nice to work with. Also, this kit, despite its age, goes together nicely - tracks not withstanding…
I’ll paint this baby and upload picks as soon as…
cheers

Hello all, I'm finally back to building my Albatros. I'm glad you guys enjoyed the photos I posted of Rhinebeck Areodrome. Thanks for the nice comments. I can post more photos from Rhinebeck if people are interested. I could do a walk-a-round of the place if I know how to post it. (Maybe its already been done). Would love to see the Shuttleworth display in Britain. Speaking of Britain, it is neat to speak with you guys who live there. I was stationed there as a U.S. Marine back during the Faulklands issue (1980s). Was part of a counter terrorist guard unit in England. Fell in love with your country! Here are some photos of the interior of my Albatros. There are two models in the photo. One will be set aside for the future, but I thought I'd do the interiors of both models at the same time.
Allen your project looks incredible!!!!!!
Matthew, welcome aboard. This is my first campaign too!
The rest of you are showing great stuff!!!
God bless!

I am calling this one done. I don’t have any decals for it unfortunately. It would like nice on some kind of a base/dio… but that will have to wait for another day…
And for all the arm-chair critics, I know that the MK I didn't have the kind of hatch on the roof which is represented here, but - with the exception of the exhaust covers - I wanted to build this OOB, so it remains.
cheers
Matthew

Alan! Fantastic, man.
Okay, as I'm typing this, I'm seeing the ads for the Takom kits, and I know Tamiya is now making them too, but I needed to take the challenge that I've read so many others do-- build the Emhar kit.
I won't go so far as to make corrections. The plan is OOB, but already I see what the hub-bub was about with the tracks-- weird, slippery plastic, in segments, that are supposed to be bent around the kit. That's certain to fail, but I've got a thick skull, so I'll give it a try anyway.
Here's my starting photo...

Now, pressing on for the year's end!
