Well yeah, it is 64f as I write this.
But don't worry my GOP friends tell me there is no such thing as climate change.

With the deadline in sight, i had to get something done...
As half of the torsion bars were missing and replacing them with wire bend to shape wasn´t sucsessful I coose the solution of the desperate engineer:
I drilled holes directly were the weels would sit and fixed thme with wire. After pouring aalmost a tube of superglue in the dammed thing it seems to be soild...
Hope to get the tracks painted soon...

I don't know Fabian, that looks like a good solution.

Hi friends,
My 251/9 is growing up, slowly but smoothly. last night I finished the installation of tracks. I spent few hours last week studying the correct direction of tracks ( ).
Unfortunately I must say that this vinyl tracks supplied by Tamiya are not the best in terms of details and accuracy.
But at the end of the story I'm quite happy.
Here some picture after installation of tracks. I've secured the track in the correct (I hope so !) position around the sprocket wheel by steel wire.
Then, some paper to keep pushing the tracks in the correct working position on the roadwheels meanwhile.
In one night the glue will do its job. Then I'll proceed...
The deadline is on sight...

I'm with you on the Tamiya tracks, Giovanni. I cut my teeth on Tamiya, and if they did indy links I might still be doing nothing but Tamiya.
Just the same, your build is looking good! Keep it up! Tick tock, tick tock!

I guess it´s the easiest solution, the only chance to get replacement parts for Dragon kits here, is buying the same kit again...
The level of my frustration was increasing with every new subassembly I´ve tried to complete. The surpension is still wobbly and looks pretty crooked. I can´t get one of the tracks to fit properly (it´s either too short or too long). Fitting upper and lower hull was a complete mess. In the interior the internal armourplates aren´t aligning properly. Had to cut the drivers feet to get him in, DS figures are a nightmare to clean up... and so on...
I´ve been tempted to throw this kit with all it´s belongings at the wall. But I´ve considered the thickness of the ones around me and didn´t fellt like having a conversation with neighbour at 1 in the morning, through a hole in the wall.
From now on I´ll stay away from Dragons 251s...

Fabian,
Sorry to hear about your difficulties. Dragon seems to put out kits that are either great or complete doo-doo. Sounds Like you got one of the latter. Maybe you can use lots of thick mud to overcome the problems with the running gear. Good luck!

Hi, here again,
This 251/9 belongs to the 24th.Pz.Div.
I must say that I've enjoyed so much with this old Tamiya kit. The construction was smooth and pieces were fitting properly without so much adjustments.
Here we go with some pictures:
I've spent sometime for the interior. Unfortunately the forward internal area with dashboard is almost invisible.
I can say this is completed. Maybe in the future I'll add more dust and weatering on the lower hull. But now it is ok for me.

Looks nice, David. Nice weathering on the keyboard--just the right amount of dust and chipping!

Thanks, usually I´m not too picky about having some little issues, but I have never had that ammout in a Dragon kit. Nevertheless I got it done:
I left it with some light dusting, after comparing it to pics from other vehicles of the 5th SS Pz.Div in Warsaw at that time.
Pictures are up in the Gallery. Despite all trouble, thanks for the Campaing. I guess I´m in for another one... but not with a Dragon kit

I need about 2 or 3 more days to get everything done.
Can I have that extension?

Here are my finished photos for the 251HT Campaign.
There photos are also in the campaign gallery.
The model is a Sd Kfz 251/3 Ausf C Mittlere Funkpanzerwagen by AFV Club 35S50.
Thanks for the extension. There are alot of great models in this campaign. I did indeed have fun with this one.

I accidentally missed the end of one campaign so i'm determined to get this one in. It's a whole story all at once of the familiar
Things were fine while it was all sub-assemblies
but I can see the problem looming:
Paint goes on
and fine till the camo stripes, the brown was too thin - humid conditions didn't help
The fit problem is obvious at the bulkhead point, it probably needed shaving to get the upper hull down
I wasn't happy with numbering a command vehicle 1123 so it got renumbered
and muddied
It hardly compares to the many great builds here, but at least it's done.
