I got a few hours last night to work on my loco, so I finished left side and glued on the wall. All pipes connected as well, just the roof left, which is gonna be a bit tricky, because fitting is not great...

Finally I have mounted on the roof and just very little left to be done in this part of the cab, darker wash on the seats and few other touches. Small LED added inside the light and there should be enough light coming out through the slot in light cover.

Hi there Libor,
followed your thread in the MIG-forum, but since it is crashed(?) I lost you, in a way of speaking. Still busy on my BR 52, I slowly start to think my next will be a BR 86. Thanks for inspiring me, and, of course, the other way you helped me!

Thank you Jan, good to see you around here. No problem at all, you helped me too, and my detailing sets will be available for your BR86 as well But there is still much to do on your BR52, which is gonna be a cracker I guess (also the figures, thought)
look here
I have taken a few pictures in better light, so here we go

Hi Libor. Great progress so far. That interior is brilliant ... just brilliant. Love all those small details ... really worth the time and effort you have taken.
Regarding the pressure boxes for casting. Do you just cast these for your self, or are you doing it professionally?

Thank you for your kind words Kenny and Frank
Well Frank, so far I do these upgrading and correcting castings mainly for myself, but I also offer some spare ones to anyone else, who is interested to improve his loco build. I have sent good few sets worldwide, and some great feedback received from all the guys, who got them. That gave me an idea to take it a bit more seriously, and a small company with 1/35 railway kits and accesories should be launched on October, if everything goes well
Until then BR86 loco detailing sets are available at my website in
spare box
Cheers

I received all parts from Libor and i just can say that it is simply fantastic.
I have good experience in resin cast detail sets, but these parts are a new era in modeling. even very small parts are cast without any problem.
most sets from well known manufacturers have some problems there. often parts are missing. but it seems that libor controls quality very thoroughly.
i'm waiting for more to be done by LIbor.

Hi Misha, thank you for your kind words, much appreciated. Will be happy to see some pictures of your loco build one day.
That remindes me, I am also going back to building, hopefuly this week I should get some bench time after very busy summer at work, which did not give me much time for anything alse. Some progress in this endless blog is coming soon.
Cheers

All right, after very busy summer at work, I am getting finally back to my hobby. I will continue my building from the other side now, starting the frame. I have mentioned before, that frame in the kit is far from real thing, first that would be closer to early production of BR86 - about 150 locos manufactured with this frame, but later many parts were improved and changed in 1930-1934, and all the following production had a new frame. I really dont know, why CMK - first Czech company produced BR86 loco kit, which was nearly exactly copied by Trumpeter, including most mistakes in construction - used later production numbers for early produced loco, which model this kit supposed to be of. Some pictures to compare CMK, Trumpeter and real frame
Anyway, with great help of my Brazil friend and modeller Marcus, who sent me drawings needed to save my time, I can now start my work on the frame. To make up new whole frame seems to be easiest way. I got ready drawings needed and my work on it begins right now...

Happy to see that you're "back to business", Libor! Quite interesting to watch your work on the frame, I suppose I can learn a lot from this (as I did from your work on the cabin), though I won't change the frame of my BR 52 now

Kanne

Hi Jan,
thank you for your kind words, good to hear from you, just catching things around after my absence in hobby, and yes, I will try to bring some handy tips during the frame work, if not for BR52 you have been working on now, so maybe for next loco you will start after - all these frames had similar construction anyway. I have started my work on it already and some pictures coming soon
Cheers

I made up a few moulds, and also frame work started, I will complete both sides in two parts, because plastic sheet is not long enough. Join will be placed in cylinder areas, that should make whole construction stronger, when these are assembled. Picture shows well difference between original early frame and Trumpeter´s one, also difference between early and later type is well noticable. I am making later version needed for my build

Working still on the frame sides, I also got ready castings I had made already a few months ago, bearings, wedges, small grease boxes, which will be assembled, when sides are finished.
