And here finished PE base for both air parts of the compressor. Now I will make a mould to get exact resin castings. Other details will be mounted on them, and the steam part of the compressor with steering and lubrication on the top. Then all the parts will make final mould for Tolkien-Knorr compressor, commonly used on many various German locos after 1934 year.

The steam part finished in surfacer coat, some additional cleaning and polish will be necessary before making the mould. Also grease equipment is finished, the nozzles at the back will be cast separately.

On my soviet Venus-lander builds, I also had some ideas for building some additional parts/ machines... but my ones are very simple against yours.

Before a mould for the air part of the compressor is ready, I can start Tolkien-Knorr water feeding pump. This is gonna be quiet hard nut to crack.




For the start, I got some basic parts, long float barrel, pump cylinder, and Tolkien control unit, which I´ll be working with now.

I have been watching your locomotive builds for some months from the sideline. With the best of intentions I say "You Sir, are a freak".

My own kit of the BR52 only just arrived after almost a year of waiting and now that I have seen yours this girl doesn't want to build hers.I am hoping the voyager PE should arrive in the post any day now so it might help a little. While I may have to stick to the kit parts more than I would like to the detail you put into the build logs is fantastic and will give me the encouragement to scratchbuild some of my own simpler parts.

What do you use for your nuts and bolts etc. They look beautifully done. I don't know where you get your deterity and patience from.

Thank you Joanne, your feedback is much appreciated. Voyager´s detailing set is very nicely done, I can highly recommend. I want to use one in the future for my armoured BR52. Many parts I have done for my BR86 will be used there as well, because they are suitable for most German locos from that times. So far I use nuts from Masterclub, but they are sometimes quiet hard to get, so I will have to make mould for them soon as well

Continued on the control unit, which is finished, just some lifting to be done, when surfacer is applied. Also grease mechanism box is ready for surfacer coat.

Continued on tricky lower part, the main work is done and there will be lots of cleaning and polishing later on. I tried to stick all the parts together and everything seems to fit just great. Trumpeter´s pump added to compare. Tomorrow I will bring pictures of finished master.

Just very small progress today, because I was kinda busy last couple of days, making some moulds for wheel bases. Anyway, I have finished another part for the compressor and all the tricky pipes and flanges to connect it later.

In the middle of busy work, a couple of castings here. Small flash (tiny membrane) can be easily removed by modelling knife.

Some small progress after while, wheel ring for all the drive wheels the same is finished and I will complete it with hub part. I have also made some other moulds, double free axlee wheels mould and more for various small valves, fittings etc.

I also would try to make "copies" from some parts of my projects, but I don´t have the possibilities for this.

Thank you Soeren, I was gone for the last few days, and also some other things appeared to be finished without delay, but here I am back again and working even harder. I will have to catch all the progress made here at the website last week, and I will drop in your topic soon as well.
A mould for the wheel rings is finished, and moulds for water feeding pump, couplings and some other parts as well.

Libor, That is some impressive detailing! I don't want to slow you down too much but I do have one quick question... actually two... What are you using for the translucent mold material for your castings? How are you casting, pressure, vacuum, or just dang good? I never see a bubble, amazing. I will definately be back this way to keep an eye on your progress.
