Hello everyone,
I thought I'd take the plunge on another campaign. I didn't manage to finish on the first 1/48th campaign, hopefully I'll make it on this one. Two months to go shouldn't be too much of a rush with some steady effort. Well, hopefully !
This is the only 1/48th kit in my cupboard at the moment, so it's what I'll be having a go at.

Well, that's the Mustang finished, but I can't get the pics posted to the campaign gallery.

Unfortunately the Kitmaker Gallery has been having problems since the server move. It's been days since I've been able to upload anything.

Pete, great job on the Mustang. I like the wear-and-tear down to the Natural Metal also. Nice finish, all the way around.

Thanks for the great welcome everyone
I made some progress last weekend before being away for a few days. You can see the progress to date below.
As Marc suggests, being a recent Tamiya kit it is going together without any real problems so far. There do not appear to be too many references freely available, a Google image search will bring up a half dozen or so. The following are also available:
Armorama In Box Review
Cybermodeller Build
Crusader AA History Article from Military Modelling
As the build review referenced indicates the only real issue I've encountered so far is the 'wobbly' fit of the running wheels. But provided you fit the cylinders on the wheels that hold the axle stubs flush against the die-cast hull walls there are no real issues with alignment.
All the best, more later in the week.
Chris

The mustang looks great Pete. Just right on the overall look.
Nice progress on the Crusader Chris.
As for my entry I finally got the RESIN tracks on my
Sd.Kfz.7. This was my first time doing resin tracks and MY LAST!!!!
I have done other resin kits/AM stuff but never
tracks
I have excepted the look since it was the best I could do.
Now on to the base, decals, weathering, accessories, etc.

Sorry those tracks were such a bear. From what I can see in the pics, it's looking really good though. That German grey looks good on it

Hello again.
Why were those tracks so difficult to use Marc ? They look OK from the photos, but its difficult to see the top of them.
I've been making slow but steady progress on my Crusader AA as you can see below. Despite the warning in the Cybermodeller build I did run into issues fitting the front hull once the tracks were on But with a bit of careful sanding and triming I got it to fit. Fortunately it's not too obvious from most viewing angles.
I also decided to try using some JB Models replacement barrels. The first time I've attempted anything like that really. When they arrived this week and realised there was tiny photo etch required as well I more or less changed my mind !!
But after looking at things again it doesn't look too bad so I'll give it a go in the next few days.
All the best everyone.
Chris

Nice work by every one.Well done.It has been awhile since I posted here.I have been waiting for the Gallery to be fixed. It's been the longest 2 weeks of My life Thanks again to Jim S. for all his hard work.
Anyway, the Puma is done Here are the pics.
There you go.I hope that you like the pics.A few of the things that I am proud of on this build are,
1.First time doing streaking with oils.Took a few tries but I think it came out well.
2.Scratch built tow cable.
3.And I know it sounds funny but,for some reason I am really proud of the bucket.I scratch built the handle, and I think it looks sweet.
Enough talk about me.I have enjoyed this campaign, and am finding that I like building the smaller scale stuff. Thanks Greg for hosting, and if you do another,I will be in for sure
All comments welcome.
Once again,thanks for a great Campaign.Jeff T.

Marc: Looks good to me too. I don't see any hang ups on the tracks.
Chris: nice work on the crusader. Looks like some fiddly PE though!
JT: super nice build!! You should also be proud of that trunk/box on the back. Very nicely painted. Put this one under some glass buddy!!
Happy Modeling, -zon

Hi Chris. Big hands, fragile resin tracks were challenging. Some of the "pins" connecting each link broke off very easily and some had to be removed. I also had to drill some of the holes in the links for the pins.
I will take a close up of the tracks at ground level and send soon. Thanks for the positive feedback.
I like the metal RB barrels for the Crusader!!!
Really like the Puma Jeff. The streaking looks spot on.
? on your bucket. I have a 1/35 bucket that is being used on a Panzerwefer. I have it painted MM steel. However it is to shiny and new. What did you do to tone yours done? I want a worn look!

Chris - those barrels are the centerpiece for that tank and should sharpen the look up nicely
Jeff - awesome work!! I think it is outstanding. The weathered tires and all that nice stowage catches my eye. Bad timing for the gallery to crap out eh. Congrats!

Chris... I agree with Greg, those barrels are sweet, and a big improvment over the kit barrels
Marc... On the bucket I airbrushed Valllejo Model Color #70.864 Natural Steel, then did a wash with AK's Dark Brown Wash #AK 045,and just messed with it till I thought it looked good.I ended up doing it a couple of times.Hope that helps.
Greg... Yes,I was beginning to think I would never be able to post pics again .Glad you like it.Jeff T.

Did a little more with the M10 Ersatz. The turret fit was a bear and the engine hatch latches keep hitting and knocking off the turret. Some small pe parts on this I usually don't attempt. It's just about together now. I just have the turret hatch hinges and grab handles left to add, and ordered some screens from T48 today.
