The last 48th scale campaign had a great response so the torch has passed to me from Stefan. There are new kits out from Bronco, Airfix, Fighting48th, etc. If you need help looking for a particular subject please ask as most are available between the plastic and resin companies out there.
Rules:
1. Timeframe for 1 year length to allow finding a kit and to encourage dioramas (though not required).
2. This is for fun but the main kit must not be started before the campaign. Other previously started or finished kits are allowed only to complement a diorama with the main vehicle chosen.
3. Minimum of 1 Military vehicle (Plane, Train, Tank, Boat, Softskin, etc) required in 1/48 or related size ie. 'O' scale
4. Must post at least 1 in-progress photo in the thread
5. Builds are for this campaign only.
So, please speak now if you're interested!

Greg, thanks for getting this started. I am really in no position to properly lead a campaign at the moment, and I know you guys have been asking for a second installment. You have my full support of course, but I can't guarantee that I will finish anything...
A couple of things on the rules:
It's become quite common now to have a start picture first (some even with a newspaper for the date).Maybe want to add that as a rule?
Also, the one mandatory rule is to post a final pic in the official gallery (also makes it easier for the feature, if you plan one).
And a final comment from experience: I'm of the opinion that one year campaigns are too long. They tend to fade out after a few months and only relight shortly before the end. So there is really no benefit in having a year. Check my Korean War Campaign, no action at all for sone 5 or 6 months...
Cheers!
Stefan

I agree. People tend to think "I have a whole year to get this done" so it can fade until they realize they don't have much time left. It could be a contributing factor in people enlisting in too many campaigns. If more campaigns were limited in time, they might better realize that they can't take on another campaign.

I may be interested. I can dig out an Aurora kit that needs to be built and think I have a helicopter in that scale too.

I would get in on this as well. Either a plane or a Tamiya 1/48th HMMWV.

Guilty as charged!
I have a 1/48 B-25 Mitchell in the stash, although my usual aircraft scale is 1/72 and vehicles is 1/35. I won't commit to this one just yet-- waiting to see if some high-speed modeling thins out my schedule. I certainly don't want this to become work!
-Sean H.
edit: Just dropped myself out of two of the bigger campaigns, so I'm down to a more manageable two builds per month. Still no room for this one, but it's a good campaign idea!

two stripes on each side to denote round 2.
take it or leave it as you please - was just bored at work.

I'm not a regular poster here, but got told about this over on Track48 so thought I'd sign up as I'm planning to do a Tamiya SU-122 over the holiday period.

This is going great.
Vance I'm so glad you did some ribbons since I didn't have a clue how to do it. I like both of them so you have the honors to choose .
I'm fine with a shorter campaign say 6 months? Also, I'll add those rules you mentioned Stefan to the official thread.
I'm really liking the variety of kits we're getting here

I've submitted the campaign proposal (Start date will have to be 2+ months per Armorama).
A nice surprise is that Cast48 will be offering a prize to a great model at the end.

I love the sound of this and I have a bunch of 1/48 kits sitting in my stash waiting to answer the bell. However, I am enlisted in several other campaigns so I am going to hold off jumping in just yet. If the time frame is right and my progress in my other campaigns allows I will enlist at a future time.

Well, got all excited and went to the shed to see what there was. I'll take another pic of the unstarted kits after the start date but here's a little dio I got planned. I'll have the T-34 with bedsprings past the Manhole with the panzerfaust getting ready to shoot it in the rear.

1/48 is my favorite scale overall, so I'm in.
I prefer a year long campaign because life has a tendency to steal large chunks of time from me. The 6 month campaigns often go by too fast for me.

1/48th is the best scale! There I said it. Sorry all other scale builders. I would love to be a part of this campaign.
