Stunning MIG Mark. The office looks great and you did a fine job with the Alclad.

Continuing on with the IBUC:

Major assembly is complete. The side skirt armor will be painted separately and then attached on the underside. I'm sure most of you realize how small this kit is; here is a good reference photo:

Getting closer, and I'm pretty sure this one will be tucked away prior to September 1.

Damn Matt...that really put in perspective what you're working on. It's been looking great so far, but now it's ESPECIALLY good looking!

And Nico, your Avia is very impressive too! Can't wait to see the rigging...that was my killer for WWI aviation

Hi Patrick - thanks - i think Alclad is more durable, the Mr Color is buffable and delicate, but they are both really good metal paints.

Greg - big thanks - I just uploaded and posted that now.

Marc - big thanks

Nicolas - Im really liking this one ! never seen that kit before - but now Im looking

really like the bren gun carrier - that looks fun

Robby: theese will be my first rigging...so i feel a little nervous about it , this is why it waited so long

Nico - should be a beauty when you're done with it.

Matt - so the UC is small enough to clean ears out with it. A very functional model Good steady progress with it. Makes me want to start another kit and leave more unfinished on the shelf

Here's my slow progress so far

MM acrylic Flat coat and detail painting up next

Greg,

Thanks. I'm thinking I'll just replace the Bren with a Q Tip and turn it into a mini battering ram... I will say this and my 1/48 10HP Tilly are probably the smallest things I've done since a 1/72 Dragon M2A3 about 10 years ago. It's not a bad kit, certainly not as good as Tamiya's StuG IIIB, M10 or the Tiger I Early I've done, but still a nice little kit. Are those figures by your "M10" aftermarket? I have the 1/48 Tamiya figure kits for German, US and British, and haven't seen any in those poses. I'm guessing Gasoline?

Mark: great work on the Mig. The weathering is awesome as is the NMF!

Nico: nice progress on the Avia

Matt: the UC is coming along well.

Greg: the Ersatz painted up very nicely. Should be a good scene with the figs

I'm back home now so hopefully I can get back to the Jagdtiger this week.

Happy Modeling, -zon

Nico, my first riggings were in 1/48...I don't want to frighten you, but I swore I would NEVER rig in 1/48 again after that experience! I don't know how you plan to rig yours, but I relied on stretched sprue. Not the prettiest method by a long shot, but it worked for me. I'm sure you've done your research, but if you feel like it, check out this article. Mainly due to airbrush difficulties, I didn't want to disturb the paint, so I didn't drill through the wings. This website is also pretty awesome for WWI aircraft. Good tips for 1/48, as well as a preview of what to expect in 1/32! Happy modeling, and best of luck in your rigging future!

Just about finished with this one. Maybe a few more grease stains and such. First attempt at a Putty tarp. Think it looks a little "molded"

Great job Patrick. Will you add a small base too? I think the figure adds some nice color and interest. Well done

I'm with Greg! If you weren't planning on a base, the tank is wonderful enough on its own. But if you've got some time or a base in the works, that machine could really come to life! Congratulations on an excellent build!

Lap Man, that looks like a really crisp build. Is the kit really that nicely done or did you put a lot of extra work into it? And forgive me...I forgot what company made your kit!

I decided to take a break from my other build for a while and get this one across the finish line. All I was able to get done tonight was primer coats of Vallejo Gray Surface Primer, the figures uniforms base coats applied and the weapons painted up. The front Bren barrel snapped from the sprue (even after using my new Tamiya side cutters) so I had to improvise and get it back together. Otherwise, work continues. Tomorrow I should be able to base coat the UC and start working on the details inside. Another few nights and I should be able to call her done.

Well I am calling this one done. To recap it is the Bandai Sd.Kfz.7 with Gaso.line Resin tracks and the Gaso.line Resin Tank trailer Sd.Ah.115.
Overall both kits went together extremely well. The only difficulty were the resin tracks. Patience or small hands are helpful.

Hi Robby,
both German Sd.Kfz.7 and 88mm Flak 18 are ancient Bandai kits, and rebox by "Fuman" several years ago, just build OOB without using any aftermarket parts.

Thanks for the clarification...for ancient kits, those seem remarkably well tooled! Enjoy the rest of that build...looking very good so far!
